There are still 12 tables left to complete before the day ends.

Frankland Loses Huge Pot

Mathew Frankland has just lost a huge to November Niner Anton Makiievskyi. The latter was all in at risk but he turned over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} so was a huge favourite against Frankland's {A-}{K-}. The baord ran out {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades}

David Peters Through To Day 2

David Peters has made it through to the money places after sending Basil Yaiche to the rail. A preflop raising war resulted in Yaiche all in at at risk with {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} against Peters' {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and with that Peters bags up 81,800 chips.

Watson Tank-Folds

On a {K-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} board, Ben Vinson bets 6,100 into the 10,400 pot and sends Michael Watson into the tank. he stays there for three minutes before emerging and folding his hand. From the look on his face he may believe he folded the best hand.

ElkY Moves on to Day 2

ElkY is a step closer to winning a bracelet in his homeland after defeating Charles Gagnon heads-up.

Elky had 400 chips less than his opponent when they tangled in a big pre-flop showdown. Gagnon raised to 1,900 off the button before moving all-in for 40,900 when ElkY three-bet to 4,800. Call.

ElkY: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Gagnon: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The board ran {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Spades} to make ElkY two-pair.

Mitchell is Interested in Tomorrow as He Wins His Table

James Mitchell had Jason Wheeler down to ten big blinds and called when he shoved into his big blind.

Wheeler's ace-deuce was dominated by the Brit's ace-seven and it was over when an ace appeared on the board. Mitchell takes through 77,200 to tomorrow.

Mitchell Keeping Wheeler Interested

The 2010 Irish Open champion James Mitchell opens to 1,200 on the button and Jason Wheeler defends his blind by three-betting to 3,600. Mitchell re-checks his cards before putting in a raise of his own to 7,000, which folds out Wheeler.

"interesting," says Wheeler as Mitchell stacks his new chips.

Third Nuts No Good For ElkY

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Bertand "ElkY" Grospellier is now heads up with Charles Gagnon but has just lost a substantial pot with the third nuts.

The flop read {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Gagnon check-called ElkY's 1,625 bet. The turn was the {3-Spades} and Gagnon checked again, ElkY kept his foot on the gas and made it 2,850 to play and was snap-called by his opponent. The river brought another diamond into play, the {9-Diamonds} and now Gagnon bet 5,600. ElkY called and Gagnon turned over {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for the flush ( {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} would have been the absolute nuts) whilst ElkY showed the {Q-Diamonds} .
