Konopelko's Straight Sends Hjulstroem Packing

Nivel 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Andrei Konopelko opened the action from the cutoff with a raise to 3,000, only to face an all-in shove for 14,000 from Linus Hjulstroem on the button. After a moment’s thought, Konopelko made the call, and the cards were revealed:

Linus Hjulstroem: A6All in
Andrei Konopelko: A8

Hjulstroem, slightly behind preflop, needed the board to cooperate. The flop came 6JQ, giving Hjulstroem a pair of sixes and causing Konopelko to shake his head in frustration.

The turn, however, brought the 10, giving Konopelko a glimmer of hope with outs for a straight or a split pot. The river delivered the 9, completing Konopelko's straight and sealing the hand. Hjulstroem’s tournament run came to an end as Konopelko added the pot to his stack.

Flush over Flush Sends Park's Stack Soaring

Nivel 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Jaehyung Park opened to 3,000 from the hijack and Francisco Blanco defended his big blind.

Blanco check-called a 2,500 bet from Park on the 9K10 flop and a 6,500 bet from Park on the 7 turn.

The 6 completed the board and Blanco led out for 18,000. Park raised to 50,000 and Blanco called.

Park turned over AJ for the nut flush, which got a groan from Blanco as he revealed he held K4 for a king-high flush before mucking his hand.

Del Pino In, Then Out

Nivel 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Omar Del Pino was a start-of-day registrant but has already hit the rail.

After an open, Xavier Coutereel called in the small blind and Del Pino shoved from the big blind. The original raiser folded but Coutereel called.

Omar Del Pino: QJ All in
Xavier Coutereel: 99

It was a flip, and although Del Pino flopped top pair it wasn't enough as the set of Coutereel on the Q92K4 board saw him sent his opponent to the rail.

Korhs Sends Karmatckii Out Early

Nivel 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Vitalijs Korhs opened to 3,000 from the hijack and just behind him, Arsenii Karmatckii shoved for his lsat 15,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back around to Korhs, who called to put Karmatckii at risk.

Arsenii Karmatckii: A9All in
Vitalijs Korhs: A10

Karmatckii had kicker problems, and the 3342J runout left his dominated ace second-best to be eliminated.

Hasler With an Early KO

Nivel 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On one of the first hands of the day Kevin Hasler raised to 4,500 from early position with Alexander Norden defending out of the big blind.

The rest of Norden's stack got into the middle on the Q46 flop with Hasler calling to try and bust him.

Alexander Norden: 108 All in
Kevin Hasler: QQ

Hasler had the nuts right now with top set, but had to fade the flush draw of Norden. The rest of the board ran out 58 and Norden was out of the tournament.

Gordo Secures Early Double

Nivel 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Christian Rotundo opened to 4,000 and Atilla Saracoglu three-bet all in for 46,000. Guillermo Gordo four-bet all in for 36,000.

It folded back to Rotundo who mucked.

Guillermo Gordo: QQ All in
Atilla Saracoglu: AQ

The flop was the eye-catching 777 which did open up the possibility of the cruellest of outcomes, should the final seven turn up. And although the JJ runout gave both players a full house, Gordo's was best and he doubled up.
