Heads-up action between Martin Paul and Oliver Barton saw over 32,000 chips in the middle to the K♦3♥A♥4♦10♣ river.
Paul moved all in for 20,900 and Barton took some time before making the call.
Paul announced a straight while turning over 5♥2♥ for the wheel. Barton tabled 10♥9♥ for a rivered pair, sending a big portion of his stack to his right.
Ivan Balzano raised to 1,600 from the cutoff and made the call after Candice Nice three-bet to 4,200 on the button.
Action slowed down on the K♣7♦3♥ flop, where Balzano and Nice both checked. Another pair of checks followed the 9♠ turn, with both players checking one last time on the Q♦ river.
Nice flipped over J♣J♠, good enough to claim the pot as Balzano mucked.
During the 2024 World Series of Poker Europe at King's Resort, Rozvadov, 888poker ambassador Vivian Saliba captured her first WSOP bracelet. It was a case of fifth time lucky for the popular Brazilian who had previously navigated her way to four WSOP final tables but fell short of the bracelet each time.
The final table of the €2,000 Pot-Limit Omaha went differently for Saliba. She eventually found herself heads-up against Germany's Markus Anheier with a commanding 3:1 lead. However, Anheier doubled, and history was in danger of repeating itself.
Saliba stuck to her guns, got lucky herself, and then had Anheier back on the ropes. All of Anheier's chips went into the middle after he flopped two pair versus Saliba's middle pair and flush draw. The flush came in on the turn, the river bricked, and Saliba finally became a WSOP champion. How did that feel?
"Oh, it was a relief! I've gotten close many times. This was my fifth final table, but I've had a 10th, 11th, 16th, 19th, and 22nd, so winning took a huge weight off my shoulders because after failing so many times and being close, you start doubting yourself and asking will this ever happen?"
"So, I'm very happy to have one shiny accessory right now, and I'm looking to accumulate more in the future."
Action folded around to Candice Nice in the small blind, who limped in. Oliver Prior checked his big blind option to see the 3♠9♦8♠ flop.
Nice checked and called after Prior slid out a bet of 1,000. A pair of checks followed the 8♣ turn and A♣ river, where Prior turned over 6♦3♣ for a pair of threes. Nice could only tap the table as she mucked her hand.
Ramlal Basdeo opened to 1,300 from under the gun and was called by Brendan Evans in the cutoff. Neil Benardout came along in the small blind, as did Brandon Harris in the big blind.
All four players checked the 6♠2♠5♣ flop, with Benardout leading out for 4,000 on the 3♣ turn. Harris and Evans called, while Basdeo got out of the way.
Benardout fired again for 8,500 after the 8♠ river, with Harris tossing in a single calling chip. Evans checked his cards again and folded.
"Flush," said Benardout as he revealed K♠10♠. Harris could only muck and count out the call as Benardout took down a sizeable pot.
