[Removed:532] Can't Beat an Ace

Nivel 6 : Blinds 250/500, 75 ante

[Removed:532] must've been on a recent charge as he just lost a decent-sized pot to drop back to 83,000, more than 65,000 chips than the last time he was checked in on.

He opened from under the gun and was called in three spots before the dealer gave a 353 flop. [Removed:532]continued for 2,500 and only the button gave him action, raising to 7,500. Call. The turn brought the A and [Removed:532] check-called a 12,200 bet before both players checked the K river.

The button opened A10 and [Removed:532] seemed surprised and mucked.

The cards were on their backs and the board had already been dealt as {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} and the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} of Conor Drinan had held against Dan Smith's {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

Drinan and Smith were at each other as the dealer counted down how much Smith owed.

"You have no respect for my game!" said Drinan.

"I don't!" quipped Smith.

Aussie Millions Ring Winner Hits the Rail

Nivel 6 : 250/500, 75 ante
Jai Kemp receives his championship ring earlier in the day.
Jai Kemp receives his championship ring earlier in the day.

Yesterday, Sydney beer brewer Jai Kemp topped a field of 311 players to win the AU$1,650 Bounty Event here at the 2015 Aussie Millions, a feat that earned him AU$93,200 and a gold ring. Kemp was looking to parlay it into a Main Event win, but any hope of that happening was cut short courtesy of Tonio Roder.

That's because Kemp got his last 8,925 all in preflop in a bad spot.

Kemp: {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Roder: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The {10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop gave Kemp some chop options, and Kemp knew it as he gave the thumbs up to signify high cards. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn was one such card, and all he needed was another higher than a seven to chop.

"Three," called Roder. The dealer obliged and delivered the {3-Clubs}. Kemp missed, rapped the table, and then exited the 2015 Aussie Millions Main Event.

Rast and Bassat Let it Go

Nivel 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Brian Rast and Andrew Bassat were both in hands post flop and both folded their holdings looking like they really wanted to call.

Kevin Killeen opened to 1,000 from under the gun and was called in three spots en route to a {2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop. The action got checked around to the cutoff and he bet 1,500, a bet called by Rast in the big blind, before Killeen check-raised to 7,000. The raise got through to just Rast left and he studied Killeen's stack and folded too, after a couple of minutes where it looked like he was going to shove.

Bassat was in the big blind and battling the button post flop with the board reading {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. The dealer bet 3,500 and called when Bassat check-raised to 8,000. A third club came came on the {2-Clubs} turn and Bassat checked to face a 13,500 bet. He fidgeted in his seats, checked his cards, though for a minute and mucked his hand.

The Freeroll is Over for Krost

Tyron Krost
Tyron Krost

Back at the 2012 Aussie Millions, Tyron Krost won the Tournament of Champions Event for a lifetime of buy-ins to the Aussie Millions Main Event. Unfortunately for the 2010 champ, who took home AU$2 million for his victory, the freeroll won't pay off this year.

Krost was nursing a short stack when action folded to him on the button. He opted to moved all in for 7,550 and David Bonadio made a quick call from the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Krost discovered he had kicker problems.

Krost: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Bonadio: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop was no help to Krost, and he started to stand up. The {K-Spades} turn gave him pause as a queen on the river would give him Broadway, but it was not meant to be as the useless {5-Hearts} peeled off. With that, a former Aussie Millions champ has hit the rail.
