Lunkin Wins First Hand Back From Break

Nivel 23 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Erik Seidel raised to 320,000 from the button with {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Vitaly Lunkin called holding {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}.

The dealer fanned a flop of {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and Lunkin check-called a 350,000-chip bet from Seidel. The {K-Clubs} turned and paired Seidel. Lunkin checked once again and Seidel checked it back. Both players tapped the table one last time on the {8-Diamonds} river and Lunkin showed his winning {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of aces.

Lunkin dragged in the pot and now has 9 million to Seidel's 3.7 million.

Lunkin Gets Lucky to Double Through Seidel

Nivel 22 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Erik Seidel was just five cards away from victory, but a nasty ace snatched it away.

It happened when Vitaly Lunkin raised to 240,000 with the {a-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Seidel popped it to 725,000 after looking down at the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} from the big blind. Lunkin agonized over the decision for several minutes and then seemingly out of nowhere announced that he was all in. Seidel snap-called and it seemed the rail could sense a winner was about to be determined.

That changed just as soon as the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop delivered Lunkin a pair of aces and the lead. Neither the {10-Spades} turn nor {4-Diamonds} river helped Seidel and Lunkin doubled on the hand.

Seidel Draws First Blood

Nivel 22 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Vitaly Lunkin raised the button to an unknown amount with {J-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Erik Seidel flat called holding the {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The flop came {2-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Hearts} and both players rapped the table to see the {2-Hearts} pair the board on the turn. Seidel cut out a bet of 300,000 and Lunkin flat called.

The river was the {3-Clubs} and Seidel fired one last bet, this time making it 650,000 to go. Lunkin called but threw his hand at the muck after he saw Seidel's pair of kings. Seidel scooped up the pot and now has about 9 million in chips to Lunkin's 3.8 million.

Steve O'Dwyer Eliminated in 3rd Place (€355,100)

Nivel 22 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer - 3rd Place
Steve O'Dwyer - 3rd Place

Steve O'Dwyer opened for 260,000 on the button holding the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} only to have Erik Seidel, who looked down at the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} in the small blind, three-bet it to 625,000. After Lunkin folded the big blind, O'Dwyer opted to make the call and saw a flop of {10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Seidel was first to act and wasted little time in betting 600,000. After 30 seconds or so, O'Dwyer announced that he was all in for 2.445 million and Seidel quickly called. "That's probably not good," O'Dwyer said even before seeing his opponent's hole cards. Indeed it was as O'Dwyer needed some help. The {J-Hearts} turn was anything but as it gave Seidel two pair and took away the majority of O'Dwyer's outs.

The dealer burned one last time and put out the {Q-Spades} on the river, the last card O'Dwyer would see in the tournament before taking his leave in third place for €355,100.

Hit to O'Dwyer

Nivel 22 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer raised to 260,000 from the button with {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and found a call from Vitaly Lunkin in the big blind with {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The flop came {4-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} and both players checked to see a turn. Fourth street brought the {6-Hearts} and Lunkin fired 280,000. O'Dwyer called and the {2-Clubs} completed the board.

Lunkin moved 500,000 forward and O'Dwyer called the bet. Lunkin showed his hand for top pair which was good enough to take the pot. By suffering this hit, O'Dwyer is down to about 2.6 million.

Seidel Into the Chip Lead

Nivel 22 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Vitaly Lunkin opened for 260,000 from the button with the {10-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Erik Seidel opted to just call with the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} in the big blind. The {7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop gave Seidel bottom set and he chose to lead out with it for 325,000. Lunkin, who flopped middle pair, made the call.

After the dealer burned and turned the {4-Hearts}, Seidel used two hands to come out with a big bet of 950,000. Lunkin quickly folded. With that, Seidel, who was the short stack at the start of three-handed play, is now the chip leader.
