Isabelle Mercier entered today with a relative short stack of about 26,000, and as we near the end of Level 9 her EPT Deauville Main Event run has been stopped after losing the last of her chips to Nicolas Dervaux.
Kent Lundmark, the former EPT Barcelona champion, has just shoved on Maxime Petitprez over at Table 21.
Petitprez opened the betting by raising to 1,700 from the hijack. Lundmark was next to act and he moved all-in for circa 23,000 chips. Petitprez folded and Lundmark added chips to his stack.
Benjamin Truzman continues his fast start today, having picked up more chips after eliminating Ismail Erkenov.
Erkenov had open-pushed his remaining 17,000 or so from middle position holding and soon found himself up against Truzman's . The board rolled out , and Erkenov hits the rail.
That pot propels Truzman up near the 150,000-chip mark, good enough to be flirting with the top ten at the moment.
Mathew Frankland found a big hand in a great spot and it enabled him to bust two players including the dangerous Mikhail Petrov.
The action started with an under-the-gun shove from Michele Beyret Dour for 18,200 and Petrov followed him in from the button for around 26,000. Frankland was in the big blind and made a quick call once he looked at his hand.
[Removed:4] is not going to get many steals through today as he has Sam Grafton two to his left.
Rudelitz opened to 1,600 from the hijack and Grafton, who is sporting the largest pair of spectacles I have ever seen, three-bet to 4,800. Rudelitz folded, grimacing as he did so.
David Lascar has just been sent to the rail by the United Kingdom's Lucas Reeves.
Lascar open shoved for around 20,000 chips from the button and was called by Reeves, who was seated in the big blind.
Lascar turned over , which sayed ahead of the of Reeves right until the river of the board. Unfortunately, for Lascar at least, the river was the and Lascar crashes out.
J.C. Alvarado has just been eliminated. He committed the last of his short stack following a flop holding for middle pair, but unfortunately for him he was up against Freddy Deeb's for a better pair of tens.
The turn was the and river the , and Alvarado is out. The dealer then swept the pot in the winner's direction, though not quite far enough for Deeb.
"Hey, my arms are short!" said Deeb with a grin, and the dealer compiled by pushing his winnings a bit closer.
English youngster Jamie Roberts, a second generation poker player (his dad is the well known 'Gentleman' Ben Roberts) is another one of the early casualties here on day two.
