Danzer with the Cooler; Schemion First Out

Nivel 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Ole Schemion was standing on the rail, busy with his phone. We didn't dare ask him for the details of his bust out hand, so we checked with PokerStars Team Pro Online member Isaac Haxton, who was seated at Schemion's table.

Schemion had opened from the cutoff seat, and both George Danzer (small blind) and Scott Seiver (big blind) called. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, and action checked to Schemion, who made a continuation bet. Both Danzer and Seiver called.

An off-suit {J-} appeared on the turn, and Danzer bet out. Seiver and Schemion called. After a {3-} on the river paired the board and Danzer bet out a second time. Seiver folded. Schemion had bigger plans, though, and the current No. 2 on the Global Poker Index shoved all in.

Danzer made the call with jacks for a full house, jacks over threes. Schemion showed {Q-}{3-} for a lower full house and headed to the registration desk to fire another €100,000 bullet.

Chadha's Aces Crush Ivey

Nivel 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

On the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, Carlos Chadha bet 15,300. Steve O'Dwyer made the call, and then Phil Ivey slid out a tower of chips for a big raise. Chadha tanked, got a count on Ivey's raise, which was 140,300, and then he reraised all in. O'Dwyer folded, and Ivey quickly called the extra bit of chips.

Chadha had the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} for an overpair, and he was ahead of Ivey's {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, but Ivey did have an open-ended straight draw in addition to his pair.

The turn was the {6-Spades}, and the river was the {7-Clubs}. Both missed Ivey, and he was forced to pay off Chadha, who was all in for 183,300 total on the flop.

Ivey was left with just 1,300 in chips.

"What am I on the flop there?" asked Ivey to no one in particular.

"Like 38 or 36 percent," responded Bryn Kenney from across the table.

According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Ivey was just under 36% with his eights against Chadha's aces, so Kenney was right on.

Tsoukernik Got Lucky

Nivel 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Leon Tsoukernik
Leon Tsoukernik

Leon Tsoukernik from the Czech Republic got lucky. Not just now in a hand against Steve O'Dwyer, because that was just a well-timed bluff, but last year, if we have to believe Phil Ivey.

On a flop of {4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Tsoukernik check-called a bet of 5,200 from the small blind. His opponent, O'Dwyer, seated in the cutoff seat, fired another 10,500 on the {4-Spades} turn. Tsoukernik called this bet as well. The {3-Hearts} fell on the river, and Tsoukernik bet out 33,000. O'Dwyer went into the tank.

"What's your name?" Ivey asked the dealer while O'Dwyer was still tanking.

"Leon" answered Tsoukernik, thinking Ivey was posing the question to him.

"No, no, I meant the dealer," said Ivey. "I know you. We played last year right? You asked me if I played baccarat."

O'Dwyer was still thinking about his decision while this conversation was going on, but eventually he reluctantly folded. Tsoukernik showed the {6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a semi-bluff.

After, Ivey and Tsoukernik continued their talks.

"You seemed like a nice guy, so I decided not to," Ivey laughed, referring to playing baccarat in Tsoukernik's casino.

"You play too high for us anyway," Tsoukernik responded. "We only go up to €25,000 a hand."

Tsoukernik, the owner of King's Casino in Rozvadov, apparently got away there last year, as Ivey repeated, "You seemed like a nice guy, so I decided not to."

Tsoukernik was a little puzzled, but Ivey was referring to the edge-sorting technique he acknowledged using.

"You weren't going to win at the time, trust me!" Ivey said with a smile.

Tsoukernik got the message and replied with a smile, "They have more money in London anyway."

"I'm gonna win that case, by the way," Ivey said with a dead serious face.

"That's good, we need the money in poker," Tsoukernik laughed.

Trips for Kaverman

Nivel 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Byron Kaverman checked the {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop to his opponent, Martin Kabrhel. Kabrhel bet 3,200, and Kaverman called to see the {6-Clubs} land on the turn. Kaverman checked, Kabrhel bet 5,500, and Kaverman called.

After the {10-Diamonds} paired the board on the river, Kaverman and Kabrhel both checked to the showdown. Kaverman showed the {A-Hearts}{10-Spades} for trip tens, and Kabrhel mucked his hand.

Smith Takes a Chunk from Kaverman

Nivel 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We arrived at the table with the final board reading {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and a hefty pot in the middle between Dan Smith and Byron Kaverman. Smith had 83,000 in front of him for a raise over the 33,000 that Kaverman had in front of him. Kaverman went deep into the tank. Eventually the clock was called on him, to which he took until about 15 seconds left to fold his hand and give Smith the pot.

Lucky Number Seven

Nivel 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened under the gun to 3,000 and Fedor Holz, two positions down, made it 8,500. Action folded back to Chidwick, and he opted to call.

Chidwick check-called a bet of 8,800 on the {Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop, and check-called another bet of 17,500 on the {J-Hearts} turn. The {9-Diamonds} on the river completed the board, and for a third time, Chidwick checked. Holz, sitting quite motionless for the entire hand, moved his head to see the river, and stared at it for a bit before checking behind.

Chidwick showed the {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, and Holz quietly mucked.

Seiver Folds a Full House?

Nivel 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Pratyush Buddiga opened from middle position, and Scott Seiver made the call on the button. Mike McDonald squeezed in a raise from the big blind, and both Buddiga and Seiver called, Isaac Haxton told us after we arrived on the flop.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}, and McDonald checked. Buddiga bet out 23,000, and Seiver called. McDonald folded after some tanking. Buddiga fired another 60,000 on the {4-Clubs} turn, and Seiver called.

The {7-Spades} paired the board on the end, and Buddiga announced all in. An exact count wasn't made by the dealer, but we estimated it at 160,000 or so, just a little over what Seiver had.

Seiver seemed in doubt, mumbling he probably wasn't folding. "I do have deuces" Seiver said at one point, if we heard correctly.

After some more minutes of thinking, Seiver opted not to follow up his statement about not folding, sliding his cards silently into the muck. Buddiga didn't show, and collected the chips.
