Hand #50: Kornuth raised the button with {8-Clubs}{6-Spades} and was called by big blind Diego Ventura with {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Ventura check-folded the {6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop.

Hand #54: Schulz opened with {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts} first to act, and Ventura defended big blind with {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. Ventura check-called 275,000 on the {k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop, and the turn brought the {7-Spades}, giving Schulz a bit more equity. Two checks followed, and the {3-Spades} was a brick. Two more checks, and Ventura dragged the pot.

Juan Martin Pastor Eliminated in 5th Place ($380,720)

Nivel 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Juan Martin Pastor - 5th Place
Juan Martin Pastor - 5th Place

Hand #44: Niklas Hambitzer opened to 230,000 under the gun with {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and got a call from Chance Kornuth with {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} in the big blind. The flop brought {5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, and Kornuth check-called 225,000. Another six, the {6-Diamonds}, helped both players, but Kornuth let Hambitzer bet 525,000 for him. Kornuth raised to just over 1 million, and Hambitzer quickly folded.

Hand #45: Juan Martin Pastor opened for 230,000 with {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} but Kevin Schulz woke up with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and three-bet. Pastor jammed it in for 1.7 million, and Schulz snapped in.

The Argentinian was miles behind, but he did find a {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop to give him a fighting chance with a pair. The {4-Spades} changed nothing, and the {a-Spades} river gave him top two, which was obviously not enough.

Three Tools of Tourneys

Nivel 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Chips. Position. Cards. All matter in no-limit hold'em tourneys. The big stacks are bullying. Players are profiting from positional advantage. And the cards are doing their part, too, at the PCA Main Event final table, as described on the PokerStars Blog.

Hambitzer Takes the Chip Lead

Nivel 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #37: Chance Kornuth opened to 240,000 from early position with {8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and was called by Kevin Schulz out of the big blind with {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

Both would check the {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop. The turn was the {4-Spades} and Schulz checked to Kornuth who bet 200,000. Schulz called. The river was the {A-Clubs} and both checked to give Schulz the pot with king high.

Hand #38: Kornuth got a walk in the big blind.

Hand #39: Kornuth raised to 250,000 with {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs} from the small blind and was called by Niklas Hambitzer out of the big blind with {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Hambitzer checked to Kornuth who bet 275,000. Hambitzer called. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Hambitzer checked again leading to another bet from Kornuth who bet 600,000. Hambitzer opted to just call.

The river was the {A-Diamonds} and Hambitzer checked a third time and Kornuth bet 1,000,000 and Hambitzer snap-raised to 2,000,000 leading to a quick fold from Kornuth. That pot moved Hambitzer into the chip lead.

Hand #40-41: these hands were not broadcast.

Hand #42: Diego Ventura moved all in from the small blind with the {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Juan Martin Pastor folded out of the big blind.
