Chasing Chopportunities

Nivel 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

The EPT Live crew have had the chance more than once today to use a favorite term — "chopportunity" — referring to community cards providing the possibility for a split pot. Meanwhile, for the handful of players remaining in the PCA Main Event more than half the $7.9 million-plus prize pool remains up for grabs to be chopped up between them. That's quite a chopportunity in itself, as detailed on the PokerStars Blog.

Shyam Srinivasan Eliminated in 10th Place ($91,240)

Shyam Srinivasan shoved all in from the button for his last 750,000, and Kevin Schulz put him at risk from the big blind.

Schulz: {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Srinivasan: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop was clean enough for Srinivasan, but the {5-Spades} turn brought a double-gutshot for Schulz. The sweat was on, and Schulz binked the {4-Spades} on the river to make his straight. Srinivasan leaned back and tilted his head toward the ceiling in disappointment, as he'd fallen just short of back-to-back final tables at the PCA.

Kornuth Takes Huge Pot From Pastor

Nivel 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Chance Kornuth opened for 110,000 in the cutoff, and Juan Martin Pastor made it 300,000 in the big blind. Kornuth four-bet to 580,000, and Pastor decided to see the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop. Both players checked, and Pastor bet 800,000 on the {4-Spades} turn. Kornuth wanted to see the river, which brought the {5-Spades}. Two checks ensued, and Pastor showed {a-}{q-}, but it was no good against Kornuth's dominating {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}.

Big River Bet Gets Boukai Out

Nivel 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Chance Kornuth defended his big blind from a 125,000 raise from Rami Boukai out of the cutoff. Both players checked the {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, and Kornuth bet out 170,000 on the {5-Spades}. Boukai called, but the river bet was considerably bigger, 475,000 after the {3-Clubs} hit. Boukai thought or a couple of minutes, picked up his cards, and tossed them to the muck.

Benjamin Pollak Eliminated in 11th Place ($91,420)

Pratyush Buddiga opened for 110,000 under the gun and called the shove of Benjamin Pollak, who had 475,000 in the big blind.

Buddiga: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Pollak: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

The {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop brought the brutal deuce Pollak didn't want to see. A {q-Diamonds} turn left Pollak with two outs, and the {9-Clubs} didn't save the Frenchman.
