Girard Cracks Kings to Leave Cardoso With Crumbs
Nivel 28
: Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Rodrigo Cardoso opened to 160,000 from middle position and Hugues Girard three-bet to 425,000 from the hijack. Cardoso put in a four-bet to 780,000, Girard five-bet shoved with a covering stack and Cardoso, who had started the hand with 1,750,000, nearly beat him into the pot.
Hugues Girard: A♣Q♠
Rodrigo Cardoso: K♦K♥
Cardoso was in great shape to double up until the A♥10♥9♦ flop gave Girard top pair leaving Cardoso drawing to just two outs. No kings materialized when the rest of the board ran out 4♦7♥ and Girard dragged in a massive double up while Cardoso was left with just over four big blinds.
