Gonzalez Goes for Monster Stack
Nivel 16
: Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
The action was picked up on a turn of 3♠7♦A♦2♣, with 60,000 chips in the pot. Malik Mayeux made a bet of 28,000 from the big blind and was called by Juan Gonzalez under the gun.
Mayeux sized up to 48,000 on the K♣ river, after which Gonzalez shoved all in for 144,000. Mayeux did not have to think long before making the call and revealed K♥7♣ for two pair.
Gonzalez also had two pair with A♣K♦ and his two pair was superior and he was thus awarded the pot worth over 80 big blinds. Mayeux, meanwhile, was left with only five big blinds.
