Yakovlev Finds an Action Turn
Nivel 9
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Mikhail Yakovlev raised to 2,400 from under the gun, receiving three calls behind him.
The action checked to Yakovlev, who continued for 3,500 on the 9♣K♦2♠ flop. Mathieu Di Meglio in the hijack called, while the button and big blind folded.
The Q♣ turn saw Yakovlev slow down with a check. Di Meglio bet out 4,000 and Yakovlev check-raised, moving all in for 13,200. Di Meglio called.
Mikhail Yakovlev: J♥10♥
Mathieu Di Meglio: K♥Q♥
The turn had given Di Meglio two pair, but it had also improved Yakovlev to a straight. The 6♥ river changed nothing and Yakovlev doubled up.
