Artsiom Lasouski raised to 50,000 in the cutoff. Chakib Mhiri flat-called on the button before Lander Lijo made it 225,000 to go in the small blind. Lasouski quickly got rid of his 7♠5♠ but Mhiri put Lijo all-in for 840,000.
Lijo snap called and a showdown was ordered.
Lander Lijo: K♥K♦
Chakib Mhiri: J♠J♦
Lijo took an even more commanding lead on the 8♥K♠9♣ flop, and his set had Mhiri's jacks drawing dead on the 3♠ turn. The 8♣ river was rendered meaningless as Lijo doubled up and overtook Mhiri in the counts.
Daniel Jackson limped in for 25,000 from the button and Marta Miquel Munoz made it 75,000 to go in the small blind. Arian Kashani called from the big blind, then Jackson made it 365,000, leaving himself just 5,000 behind. Munoz then shoved, Kashani folded, and Jackson called off his last chip.
Daniel Jackson: J♥J♦
Marta Miquel Munoz: Q♠Q♣
"Any Johnny's about?" said Jackson while the dealer was waiting for permission to run the board.
Once the dealer did get the go-ahead, there was no improvement for Jackson as the runout of 6♦8♣2♠2♣9♠ kept the pocket queens of Munoz in the lead.
Adrien Quetelart moved all in, second to act, for 145,000. Timo Kamphues and Anton Kraous called from the hijack and small blind.
Kraous check-called bets of 65,000 and 145,000 on the flop and turn before the river checked through to showdown.
On the K♣7♠5♠9♥A♦ board, Quetelart tabled A♠4♥ for a pair of aces, besting Kamphues' K♦Q♦ and Kroaus' 10x10x. Kamphues took the side pot with a pair of kings.
On the next deal, Quetelart opened to 50,000 from under the gun, and Kraous called from the button. Quetelart fired out bets of 40,000 and 140,000 on the flop and turn and was called both times for the final board to read K♥5♣3♠8♦8♥. Both players checked it through to showdown.
Quetelart had J♠J♣ but was beaten by K♦6♦, to go back to being a short stack.
Heads-up to a flop of J♠9♣3♣, Mikhail Shalamov bet 110,000 from the big blind and Ivan Zabiiakin called in the small blind.
The turn was the K♥ and Shalamov bet another 275,000. Zabiiakin again called and the 5♣ fell on the river. Shalamov then moved all in and Zabiiakin called for his last 1,000,000.
Shalamov turned over 8♣6♣ for a rivered flush and Zabiiakin tossed K♦J♦ into the muck on his way to the exit while the massive pot was pushed to the new tournament chip leader.
In a blind versus blind battle, Marta Miquel Munoz bet 55,000 from the big blind on a flop of A♣J♥6♥ and Daniel Jackson called.
Both players checked the 7♣ turn. The river was the 2♥ and Munoz bet another 130,000. Jackson quickly called and Munoz showed A♦2♠ for aces and deuces to win the pot.
Anton Kraous opened from under the gun to 50,000 and Adrien Quetelart called off his stack of 30,000 from the cutoff. Damir Zhugralin called in the small blind, then Santhosh Suvarna made it 200,000 from the big blind. Kraous and Zhugralin both folded.
Adrien Quetelart: A♥Q♠
Santhosh Suvarna: A♠9♣
The preflop action left a pretty good scenario for Quetelart as a few more chips got piled into the main pot for him to win, should his hand hold. The runout of 10♣5♠3♦3♠6♥ did keep his hand in the lead, which meant he almost quintupled up to 145,000.
Georgios Skarparis found A♠A♣ in the hijack and raised to 50,000. Lander Lijo looked down at A♦6♣ in the big blind, deciding to reraise to 175,000. Skarparis just called.
Lijo bet 75,000 on the 3♠10♥K♣ flop, which Skarparis called. The K♥ turn saw Lijo give up as he checked before folding to Skarpari's 450,000-chip shove.
