Franchi's French Song Gets the Job Done
Nivel 27
: Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Malcolm Franchi opened to 250,000 from late position, leaving 300,000 behind, and Yehor Shumeiko called from the small blind.
The flop came Q♣5♦J♥. Shumeiko checked, and Franchi made a continuation bet of 175,000. Shumeiko then moved all in, and Franchi called.
Malcolm Franchi: A♠J♣
Yehor Shumeiko: K♠Q♠
Franchi managed to hit a pair of jacks, but Shumeiko had top pair. The turn came 2♥, and Franchi still needed help, but the river was the J♦, improving him to trips. He started singing a French song and said, "It does the job!" as he secured the double up.
