Tulepbergenov Takes Down Khorchidian

Nivel 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Nichan Khorchidian had his stack of around 40,000 in the middle and was up against Azamat Tulepbergenov, who has been running extremely well today.

Nichan Khorchidian: AQ All in
Azamat Tulepbergenov: 88

The flop of QQ6 gave Khorchidian trips and a firm grip on the hand, but the 8 turn improved Tulepbergenov to a full house. Khorchidian had outs to a bigger boat, but couldn't find them as the 7 river meant he was eliminated at the end of Level 9.

Grodek Dusts Off Lie in the Penultimate Level

Nivel 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Aylar Lie
Aylar Lie

Stanislaw Grodek opened the hijack to 4,000 and Aylar Lie three-bet the cutoff to 12,000. When it got back to Grodek, he shoved for around 70,000, and Lie called off her stack of slightly less.

Aylar Lie: AQ All in
Stanislaw Grodek: AK

Lie was at risk and way behind to the superior holding of Grodek. A flop of 1072 did give Lie a backdoor flush draw, but that was eradicated on the 4 turn. Only a queen on the river could save Lie, but instead Grodek improved to top pair when the K completed the runout.

Nuts Against Second Nuts Goes Ponomarev's Way

Nivel 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Nikolay Ponomarev
Nikolay Ponomarev

Danielle Noja opened up the action with a raise to 4,500 from the hijack and Nikolay Ponomarev made it 12,500 on the button. Atilla Saracoglu called in the big blind, and Noja also called.

The flop came a monotone 5102, which checked around to Ponomarev, who bet 20,000. Saracoglu quickly folded, and Noja called.

A K on the turn put four clubs on board, and both players checked to the 9 river, where Noja checked and Ponomarev fired 80,000.

"That's a very big bet," said Noja. After taking some time to think, Noja settled on a call.

Ponomarev then showed AQ for the nut flush, and Noja said "I have the same hand, but in reverse!", then flipped AQ for the second nuts.

Big Stacks Kashani and Tulepbergenov Collide

Nivel 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The action folded around to Arian Kashani on the button, who made a raise to 4,500, which only Azamat Tulepbergenov called from the small blind.

On the A410 flop, Tulepbergenov check-called a bet of 5,000 from Kashani to see the J drop on the turn, where again he went into check-call mode once Kashani bet 15,000.

When the K dropped on the river, Tulepbergenov checked for a third time, and Kashani made it a hat-trick of post-flop bets as he fired out 36,000. Tulepbergenov didn't need to think for long and quickly folded, which earned Kashani the pot.

Tulepbergenov Flips Out Newey

Nivel 8 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Paul Newey
Paul Newey

Paul Newey had shoved his stack of around 40,000 into the middle over an open and two calls, and was put at risk by high-flying Azamat Tulepbergenov.

Paul Newey: A10 All in
Azamat Tulepbergenov: 99

Newey needed to win the flip to stay alive, but the board of 4J53Q didn't bring him any help, which meant he was eliminated.

Tulepbergenov now has around 550,000 in his stack!

Genc Gets the Better of Ketzer Again

Nivel 8 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Musa Genc and Felipe Ketzer were back at it again with around 15,000 chips in the pot on a board of K85. Genc initially checked, Ketzer bet 5,000, then Genc check-raised to 20,000. After thinking it over, Ketzer called.

Both checked the board-pairing K turn to see the 4 bring in both flush and straight draws on the river. Genc gathered chips and fired out 37,500, and after some time in the tank, Ketzer elected to fold.
