Nikolay Ponomarev Eliminated in 13th Place ($10,695)

Nivel 29 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante
Nikolay Ponomarev
Nikolay Ponomarev

Nicolae Paunescu opened the button and Nikolay Ponomarev three-bet from the small blind to 625,000, leaving himself just a few chips back. When it got back to Paunescu, he shoved, and after a little tank, Ponomarev called.

Nikolay Ponomarev: K10 All in
Nicolae Paunescu: KQ

Ponomarev was at risk and trailing the superior hand of his opponent. A flop of 4JJ did bring around some chop opportunities, and the 3 added a few more. However, the 8 was a brick, which meant Ponomarev was out in 13th.

Esper Sadek Eliminated in 14th Place ($10,695)

Nivel 29 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante
Esper Sadek
Esper Sadek

Immediately after losing queens against aces, Esper Sadek shoved for his last 600,000 and was called by Zhen Chen.

Esper Sadek: JJ All in
Zhen Chen: 1010

Sadek had a chance to get back into the game, but that seemed unlikely after the 4510 flop have Chen a set. The 4 turn wasn't what Sadek needed, and Chen improved to quads on the 10 river, just to add some salt in the already gaping wound.

Sadek Runs Queens Into Aces

Nivel 29 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Esper Sadek raised from the hijack and was faced with a three-bet from Philipp Wood to 625,000 on the button. When it got back to Sadek, he shoved for 2,500,000, and Wood snap-called for his stack of almost 2,000,000.

Philipp Wood: AA All in
Esper Sadek: QQ

An unfortunate spot for Sadek, but there were still five cards to come for him to try and spike a queen. However, the 55A flop all but sealed the deal as Wood improved to top set. No miracle runner-runner occurred on the 39 runout, and Sadek was reduced to around 600,000 while Wood shot up to over four million.

Chen Finds a Miracle to Crack Paunescu's Aces

Nivel 29 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Nicolae Paunescu raised to 250,000 from the hijack and Zhen Chen shoved for 1,905,000 out of the small blind. After the big blind folded Paunescu snap-called.

Zhen Chen: A10 All in
Nicolae Paunescu: AA

Chen was in the worst possible shape he could be against the aces of Paunescu and would need to use his 'one-time' to survive this one.

The 1053 flop gave Chen some hope with a pair of tens. The dealer dropped the miracle 10 on the turn to put Chen firmly in the lead with trips. There was no one outer on the river for Paunescu as the Q fell, and Chen stayed alive in the tournament.

Sachin Joshi Eliminated in 15th Place ($10,695)

Nivel 29 : 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante
Sachin Joshi
Sachin Joshi

Grigorii Rodin raised from under the gun and then called the shoved of Sachin Joshi, who had around 900,000 from the next seat.

Sachin Joshi: KQ All in
Grigorii Rodin: AJ

Joshi was at risk but did have the live cards that he could connect with to stay alive. However, that seemed like a tall order as the A63 flop gave Rodin top pair and a firm grasp on the hand. The 7 turn meant Joshi was drawing dead, and the meaningless 9 filled out the board.

Yaniv Shushan had his stack of around 500,000 in the middle with Philipp Wood looking to thin down the field.

Yaniv Shushan: K7 All in
Philipp Wood: 88

Shushan had an overcard but couldn't make use of it as the 45A46 runout meant he was out in 16th.

Murat Bayyurt
Murat Bayyurt

Konstantin Kvashin raised from the cutoff to 200,000 and Murat Bayyurt defended his big blind with 250,000 behind.

Bayyurt shoved when the dealer put out the flop of 925 and Kvashin called.

Murat Bayyurt: 76 All in
Konstantin Kvashin: KJ

Bayyurt was behind to the king-high of Kvashin but did have some out he could hit with two cards to come. However, the 5 turn and 9 river didn't help Bayyurt and he was out in seventh place.

A Set of Treys Help Paunescu to Double

Nivel 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Nicolae Paunescu
Nicolae Paunescu

Nicolae Paunescu defended his big blind to an early position Murat Bayyurt raise. The two players saw the dealer fan out of a flop of J32, which Paunescu checked. Bayyurt bet 375,000 and was met by check-shove from Paunescu for 2,050,000. Bayyurt called and the cards were flipped over.

Nicolae Paunescu: 33 All in
Murat Bayyurt: QQ

Paunescu had flopped a set of treys and was in a commanding position to double-up and leave Bayyurt with dust. The rest of the board ran out A4 and Paunescu doubled up through Bayyurt.

Dan Borlan
Dan Borlan

Dan Borlan raised from the cutoff and Grigorii Rodin shoved from the big blind for over 2,000,000. Borlan had around 1,850,000 in his stack and quickly called to put himself at risk.

Dan Borlan: JJ All in
Grigorii Rodin: A2

Borlan was ahead with his jacks, but fell quickly behind as the 9QA flop paired Rodin's ace. A 6 on the turn offered no help, and neither did the 6 turn, which meant Borlan was out in 18th.
