PokerNews has live reported several of those tournaments, and during that time our live reporting team has captured some big and game-changing hands.

For example, we already published an article on Jeremy Becker getting his aces cracked by Jonathan Little early in the $25,000 Super High Roller. You can read all about that hand here.

Time to look at some other interesting hands from the past week of the PokerNews live updates from the 2024 NAPT.

Ducks Are Good

Nivel 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Barry Woods limped in on the button, and after Sam Soverel folded in the small blind Nicholas Seward checked his option.

David Coleman
David Coleman

David Coleman opened the action with a raise to 100,000 on the button. It folded to Sam Soverel in the big blind, and he three-bet to put Coleman all in for his stack of 710,000. Coleman quickly called to put his tournament life at risk.

David Coleman: JJ All in
Sam Soverel: A7

Coleman was in a great spot to double up with his pocket jacks, and the 9105 flop brought no help for Soverel. However, the 8 on the turn gave Soverel additional outs with a flush and straight draw. The J on the river improved Coleman to a set, but it gave Soverel the straight, taking the pot and sending Coleman to the payout desk in fourth place.
