For over a month, a special giveaway was held between the PokerNews Podcast and Life Outside Poker with Connor Richards. Over the course of six episodes, code words were dispersed that spelled out a code phrase – NAPT Ladies Event Champ Kyna Cool – and last weekend listeners had the chance to submit that phrase for a chance to win a $10,000 Gold Pass to PokerStars NAPT Las Vegas at Resorts World.

In a recent episode of the PokerNews Podcast, hosts Mike Holtz, Kyna England, and Chad Holloway randomly selected a winner – 35-year-old Luis Rivera from Houston, Texas.

When asked how he learned about the giveaway, Rivera explained: “I had jumped onto PokerNews to hear more about the Nick Vertucci incident on HCL and noticed a banner that was displaying the giveaway. I thought to myself, ‘Hell, it can't hurt to try.’ Boy, am I glad I did!”

Lee Picks Off the Bluff

Nivel 4 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Action was picked up on the river with the board showing Q495A and roughly 17,000 in the pot.

A player in the hijack bet out 12,700 and Phillip Lee in the cutoff thought over his decision for a moment before finding the call. The hijack tabled KJ for a missed straight draw and just king high. Lee had the winner when he showed A8 for a pair of aces to take the pot.

Murray Takes It Down

Nivel 4 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

A player in middle position raised to 1,100 and when it folded to Jenna Murray in the small blind she three-bet to 3,000. Once the big blind folded the middle position player made the call.

The flop came 389 and the middle position player called a bet of 2,000 from Murray.

Both players checked after the A on the turn, which brought the Q on the river. Murray then fired out 7,500, and after thinking over his decision the middle position player flashed the A as he tossed his cards in the muck. Murray told him "no good" as she scooped in the pot.

Nivel 4 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Daniel Willis raised all in from under the gun for his stack of 3,900 and when it folded to the big blind Michel Bolduc he made the call to put Willis at risk.

Daniel Willis: AQ All in
Michel Bolduc: AQ

Both players shared the same hand but Bolduc was suited and Willis said "Im getting freerolled". But when the board ran out 9J578 it was Willis the one who made a flush, to secure the double up.

Daniel Willis: QQ

It was a cooler for Willis who need to find help to eliminate Bolduc. But once the board ran out 52863 the pocket kings of Bolduc were still best to secure him the double up.

Metaxas Turns a Straight and Knocks Out Bonnet

Nivel 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was picked up on the turn with roughly 21,000 in the pot and the board showing 9387.

After the turn Nikolas Metaxas bet out 15,000, leaving just 200 chips behind. Then Guillaume Bonnet went all in for his stack of 12,100. Zachary Rainwater sat in the tank for about a minute thinking over his decision, before finding a fold to leave the players heads up, with Bonnet at risk.

Guillaume Bonnet: 99 All in
Nikolas Metaxas: 106

Bonnet flopped a set but would need the board to pair to stay in the tournament after Metaxas turned a straight. But the Q on the river brought no help and Bonnet was eliminated, as Metaxas scooped the pot.
