The 252 players qualified for Day 2 are all in the money, and they all secured a minimum cash-prize of €1,000. However all eyes are on the first-place prize of €90,000 which will be awarded on Sunday.

252 Players Advance to Day 2 in the Winamax Poker Open Bratislava

Day 2 of the Winamax Poker Open's much-anticipated €500 Main Event, here in Bratislava, is set to get underway at noon local time.

Across four starting flights, over three days, a total of 1,516 players made their way through the doors of the Banco Casino, generating a prize pool of €667,040. All 252 survivors to progress to Day 2 have secured a minimum cash of €1,000, but the attention of the room will certainly be placed on the first-place prize of €90,000.

Coming into Day 2 with the overall chip lead is Ludovic Palain with a total of 1,369,000; Palain amassed his monster stack by the conclusion of Day 1b, having burst the bubble in the process.

With France dominating eight of the top ten stacks, Palain is followed by fellow countrymen Robin Gerard and Nicolas Malbrec who accumulated stacks of 1,133,000 and 1,080,000 respectively.

Winamax Team Pro has had a strong showing with seven members returning to the felt for Day 2. Leading the way is Mustapha Kanit with a stack of 309,000. Kanit is far out in front of his fellow professionals as the rest of the team bagged the following; Romain Lewis (130,000), Leo Margets (127,000), Julien Sitbon (121,000), Alexane Najchaus (105,000), Gaelle Baumann (69,000) and Adrian Mateos (34,000).

In addition, the reigning champion hailing from Slovakia, Martin Bartos, is still in contention for back-to-back trophies with a stack of 173,000.

Play will recommence with one minute left on Level 19; the blinds will be 3,000/7,000 with a 7,000 big blind ante. The remaining players will benefit from a slightly longer clock of 35 minutes.
