With around 25,000 in the pot and a board reading J♠7♠9♣4♦, Patrik Demus bet 12,500 from the big blind and seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Scott Seiver called from early position.
When the 9♥ completed the board on the river, Demus paused for a few beats before moving all in and Seiver, who had approximately 25,000 behind, didn't take long to call.
Demus tabled the 10♦8♥ for a flopped straight, and Seiver mucked his hand. However, since it was an all-in-and-call situation the dealer was obligated to show his hand, which was A♥5♠.
Seiver seemingly had a read that his ace-high might be the best hand, but it wasn't as Demus had the goods and eliminated the future Poker Hall of Famer.

What is a player to do when they love tournament poker, their mind allows them to compete against the best of the best, but their body doesn’t want to cooperate? That’s a question “Texas” Mike Moncek, who suffers from a heart condition, asked himself Wednesday night after playing in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise Event #7: $100,000 Triton Main Event.
The tournament, which is being live reported by PokerNews, attracted 182 entrants and offered up an $18,200,000 prize pool. On Day 2, a little over 40 players remained when Texas Mike, in his own words, “punted.”
The players are headed on their second 15-minute break of the day.
Tomas Telek opened 2,400 under the gun and both Monika Zukowicz and Ji Jia called before Michael Soyza jammed for roughly 25,000 from the big blind. Telek called off his stack of about 16,000. Zukowicz and Jia mucked their hands.
Tomas Telek: 10♣10♦
Michael Soyza: A♦J♣
"Tens! Exactly what I wanted," Soyza said excitedly as the cards were table.
The news got even better for Soyza as the dealer fanned the A♣7♣3♠ flop, leaving Telek drawing thin. The 4♠ turn and 6♠ river were no help and Telek stood up from the table.
