Seiver Goes With His Read But Pays the Price

Nivel 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

With around 25,000 in the pot and a board reading J794, Patrik Demus bet 12,500 from the big blind and seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Scott Seiver called from early position.

When the 9 completed the board on the river, Demus paused for a few beats before moving all in and Seiver, who had approximately 25,000 behind, didn't take long to call.

Demus tabled the 108 for a flopped straight, and Seiver mucked his hand. However, since it was an all-in-and-call situation the dealer was obligated to show his hand, which was A5.

Seiver seemingly had a read that his ace-high might be the best hand, but it wasn't as Demus had the goods and eliminated the future Poker Hall of Famer.

Joseph Cheong: QQ All in
Harvey Jackson: 98

Cheong was in great shape with top set and avoided the suck out as the board completed with the A turn, and the 3 river.

Schumacher Leads the River

Nivel 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Jamie Flynn opened in early position and Yannick Schumacher defended the big blind.

When the QJ4 flop hit the felt, Schumacher check-called a bet of 2,500.

The 2 turn was checked through to see the 9 river and Schumacher flung 1,500,000 across the line. Flynn only took a couple of seconds before finding a fold.

Seidel Misses a Straight

Nivel 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Erik Seidel limped the small blind and Aleksei Lebedev checked his option.

When the KJ10 flop hit the felt, Seidel led for 1,500 and Lebedev made the call.

The K fell on the turn and Seidel check-called a bet of 2,000.

The board double paired as the J landed on the river and both players tapped the table. Seidel tabled Q8 for a missed open-ended straight draw and Lebedev took down the pot with A7.

Health > Wealth: Texas Mike Questions Stamina After “4-Bet Jam Nuclear Punt” in $100K

Nivel 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

What is a player to do when they love tournament poker, their mind allows them to compete against the best of the best, but their body doesn’t want to cooperate? That’s a question “Texas” Mike Moncek, who suffers from a heart condition, asked himself Wednesday night after playing in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise Event #7: $100,000 Triton Main Event.

The tournament, which is being live reported by PokerNews, attracted 182 entrants and offered up an $18,200,000 prize pool. On Day 2, a little over 40 players remained when Texas Mike, in his own words, “punted.”

Soyza Gets What He Wants

Michael Soyza
Michael Soyza

Tomas Telek opened 2,400 under the gun and both Monika Zukowicz and Ji Jia called before Michael Soyza jammed for roughly 25,000 from the big blind. Telek called off his stack of about 16,000. Zukowicz and Jia mucked their hands.

Tomas Telek: 1010 All in
Michael Soyza: AJ

"Tens! Exactly what I wanted," Soyza said excitedly as the cards were table.

The news got even better for Soyza as the dealer fanned the A73 flop, leaving Telek drawing thin. The 4 turn and 6 river were no help and Telek stood up from the table.
