At the same time that Mikita Badziakouski was faced with a decision for his tournament life on the other table, Stephen Chidwick moved all in for 775,000 from under the gun and David Coleman called in the cutoff.
Stephen Chidwick: A♣10♣
David Coleman: A♦Q♦
Coleman had Chidwick dominated going to the flop, which came J♠J♣2♥. The 7♥ turn was no help to Chidwick, while the river was the K♠ and Coleman's queen-kicker played to send Chidwick to the rail.
Mikita Badziakouski raised to 250,000 under the gun and Ossi Ketola defended in the big blind.
The flop came J♦2♠7♦ and Ketola check-called a bet of 225,000, bringing the 4♥ turn.
Ketola check-called again, this time for 800,000 and the A♣ rolled off on the river. Ketola moved all in, putting Badziakouski at risk, who had 1,400,000 behind.
Badziakouski thought for a moment before eventually making the call and turning over K♠J♥ for a pair of jacks.
Ketola tabled A♦4♠ for two pair, aces and fours, to send Badziakouski to the rail.
Seth Davies raised to 225,000 in the cutoff before Samuel Mullur moved all in for 1,225,000 in the big blind. Davies leaned back in his seat while he waited for a count, took a final peek at his cards, and finally called to put Mullur at risk.
Samuel Mullur: K♦10♦
Seth Davies: A♠8♦
Mullur needed to improve to stay alive, and he found the help he was looking for on the K♣K♥2♦ flop as he made trips. The board ran out Q♠10♠ and Mullur doubled up.
Mario Mosboeck raised to 495,000 in the hijack, leaving himself 5,000 behind, and Mikita Badziakouski came along from the big blind.
Badziakouski bet on the 7♣5♦4♣ flop and Mosboeck committed the rest of his stack.
Mario Mosboeck: A♦2♦
Mikita Badziakouski: 8♥7♥
Badziakouski was ahead with top pair, while Mosboeck had a straight draw. The board ran out 9♠8♦ and Badziakouski improved to two pair to send Mosboeck to the rail in 14th place.
Stephen Chidwick raised to 200,000 under the gun and Dimitar Danchev three-bet to 400,000 in early position. Thomas Muehloecker then moved all in for 875,000 on the button, Chidwick folded, while Danchev called to put Muehloecker at risk.
Thomas Muehloecker: A♥A♣
Dimitar Danchev: A♥J♥
Muehloecker showed down a pair of aces and was a big favorite to double up as the 10♣2♦3♣8♣7♣ board improved him to a flush and secured him the pot.
Action folded to Kannapong Thanarattrakul who moved all in for 925,000 in the small blind. Fedor Holz was in the big blind and snap-called to put Thanarattrakul at risk.
Kannapong Thanarattrakul: 9♠8♠
Fedor Holz: A♣2♣
Thanarattrakul picked up a flush draw on the K♠Q♣2♠ flop, but he missed the 6♥ turn and Q♥ river as Holz took the pot with a pair of deuces to send Thanarattrakul to the rail in 15th place.
The third and final day of the $100,000 Triton Main Event at the 2024 World Series of Poker Paradise is set to resume at 12:00 p.m. local time at Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas. Only 15 players are returning from a huge field that started with 182 entries. The remaining competitors all have their eyes set on the $3,850,000 top prize out of $18,200,000 prize pool, along with the coveted WSOP gold bracelet and Triton Series trophy.
The overwhelming chip leader heading into Day 3 is Ossi Ketola (8,415,000), who finished runner-up in a Triton event last month for nearly $3,000,000. He looks to avenge that second-place finish by closing out today with a victory to capture what would be his career-best score.
