Van Riet Loses a Chunk

Nivel 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Pim van Riet raised it up to 53,000 from the hijack and Steve Warburton in the big blind was the sole caller.

Warburton check-called a bet of 78,000 on {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}, and lead out 162,000 on the {J-Spades} turn. Van Riet made the call.

Warburton needed some time to decide on his bet when the {10-Hearts} hit the river. He eventually decided on 298,000 and Van Riet almost instantly called by tossing in a single 25,000 chip. He soon needed to add the other 273,000 as Warburton showed {10-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a rivered full house, and Van Riet couldn't beat that.

Wheeler Drops Some to Andersson

Nivel 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Jason Wheeler limped from the small blind and Fredrik Andersson checked his option in the big.

The flop brought out {Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Wheeler bet 27,000, Andersson called. On the turn the {8-Hearts} hit and Wheeler bet 115,000.

Andersson called again and on the river the {K-Clubs} hit.

Both players checked and Wheeler showed {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Andersson showed {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} to take down this pot.

WPT National Returns to Valkenburg in October!

Nivel 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

WPT National Valkenburg returns to Holland Casino in October for its second sell out instalment. Following on the success of last years event and WPT Amsterdam, the World Poker Tour has released the schedule for the poker festival in the Southern Hill.

The WPT Main Event buy-in will this year be €675+€75 and will take place October 1-4, 2015 with the €1350+€150 High Roller taking place just before (September 30- October 1).

Last year it was Dutchman Niels van Leeuwen who took down the Main Event after beating a field of 402 entries to take down the first-place prize of €40,000. The final table also included Dutch poker legend Marcel Lüske and Joep van den Bijgaart, the latter who's still battling it out in this very tournament with just 10 players remaining.

The total prize pool last year was just shy of €200,000 and the expectations are that these numbers will be beaten in this year's edition. Here's the schedule:

Pyysing Gives Up

Nivel 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Farid Yachou raised to 45,000 from the hijack and just Aki Pyysing in the big blind made the call. The Fin checked on {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Yachou bet 45,000. Pyysing check-raised to 150,000 straight and Yachou shrugged. He asked how much it was, and how much Pyysing had behind (335,000). He then called. The {Q-Spades} fell on the turn and Pyysing checked. Yachou announced all in and Pyysing almost instantly folded.

Louis Salter Eliminated in 9th Place (€20,500)

Jason Wheeler raised to 45,000 from the cutoff and Louis Salter on the button shoved for 393,000. Fredrik Andersson in the small blind asked for a count, and announced all in over the top. Big blind Aki Pyysing and Jason Wheeler folded instantly.

Louis Salter: {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Fredrik Andersson: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The flop just about ended it for Salter: {Q-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}. The {5-Hearts} on the turn was a blank, and so was the {5-Diamonds} on the river.

Louis Salter departed in 9th place, taking home €20,500. The remaining 8 players are guaranteed €27,500.
