Back to Poker

Eugene Katchalov, Daniel Alaei and David Steicke saw a flop of {4-Clubs}{a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Alaei checked, Steicke bet, Katchalov folded, and Alaei called.

The turn was the {4-Hearts}, and Steicke led out. Alaei again called. Alaei called another bet after the {8-Clubs} fell on the river, but mucked when Steicke opened {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for aces-up and the nut-low.

Ashby Quarters Chiu, Busts Another

Richard Ashby
Richard Ashby

We caught up with the action on a {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Spades} board.

Richard Ashby's bet was raised by David Chiu and another player called all in for his remaining 7,000. Ashby called and tabled {A-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for two pair and the nut low. Chiu could only muster {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} to get half of the low, while the all-in player mucked.

More Important Things

Nivel 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

There's quite a scene unfolding in the Blue section right now. The NBA Finals game is down to about five minutes in the fourth quarter, and there are at least fifty people watching the game as the break clock ticks down to zero. There was murmurs of pushing back the restart time from a group of the more passionate fans, but a few players wanted to get back to the tables, so the clock is running.

Let's see how long everyone can stay in their chairs with the small television about fifty feet from the tables.

Kahlmeyer Gets There

Tim Kahlmeyer check-called a bet from Mike Matusow with the board reading {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The river was the {k-Spades}, Kahlmeyer led, and Matusow called. Kahlmeyer opened {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for trip kings, and Matusow flashed {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} before mucking.

Barber Clips Deeb

Andrew Barber has remained active throughout the day, and is among our chip leaders because of it.

In one hand he was heads-up with Freddy Deeb in a three-bet pot. Deeb wanted to put a fourth bet in preflop, but the floor ruled that it was a call. The dealer fanned {9-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and Barber check-called a bet from Deeb.

Both players checked the {5-Hearts} on the turn, and the river brought the {6-Clubs}. Barber check-called another bet, and tabled {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a straight and an eighty-seven low. Deeb mucked, and Barber scooped the pot.
