Rodman Dusted

Blair Rodman was short stacked and all in preflop with {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} against an opponent’s {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. The flop was a clean {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for Rodman however the {3-Spades} turn put his opponent in the lead. The {Q-Hearts} bricked out and Rodman was eliminated.

Nguyen and Geller Bounced

While Anh Van Nguyen recently doubled, he was unable to turn that win into any sort of momentum. In a recent hand, Nguyen raised from middle position and received calls from the players in both blinds. The small blind then led out on the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop, which the big blind and Nguyen called. When the dealer burned and turned the {Q-Spades}, The small blind bet, the big blind raised, and Nguyen three-bet all in. The big blind folded while the small made the call.

Nguyen: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

Nguyen was ahead with his flopped set but needed to dodge a heart or jack on the river. Unfortunately for him, the {7-Hearts} spiked and sent him to the rail.

Meanwhile, the wife of Patrik Antonius, Maya Geller, was also eliminated from the tournament.

Turn Away Mercier

After raising pre-flop Mercier managed to get a call from The Button. On a board of {4-Clubs} {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds} Mercier bet out and was called. The turn brought the {10-Spades} and we had a repeat of action with Mercier betting again and getting called.

Mercier slowed down and checked the river {3-Clubs}, and was rewarded with a bet from his opponent. Mercier made the call and was shown {10-} {10-} for a set of tens. Mercier mucked his hand.

Clark Busto

We found Zach Clark all in preflop with {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and racing against an opponent’s {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. The board rolled out {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs} which gave the opponent a higher two pair and eliminated Clark from the tournament.

Van Nguyen Doubles His Short Stack

The cutoff raised and Anh Van Nguyen made it three bets from the button. The cutoff asked to see how much Nguyen had left and put him all in. Nguyen made the call and flipped up {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} while the cutoff showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The flop was a juicy one as it came {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The {8-Diamonds} turn changed nothing and although the {J-Clubs} river gave the cutoff two pair, it gave Van Nguyen a straight and the double up.

McDonald, Corkins, Schwartz, and Chiu Busted

We're not sure of the details, but the seats formerly occupied by Michael Mcdonald, Noah Schwartz, Hoyt Corkins, and David Chiu have found new inhabitants. That can only mean one thing . . . they have all been eliminated!

Stacking Chips

We caught up to the action at Table 358 to find Jarred Solomon raising his opponent on a board of {8-} {2-} {2-} {6-} {2-}. While his opponent thought about a call, Solomon continued to stack chips from winning the previous hand. His opponent, perhaps intimidated, folded and Solomon was awarded more chips to his pile.

Quad Aces Gives Suelflow the Double

We caught the action on this hand on the turn with the board reading {7-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Action was capped between Matthew Suelflow and Daivd Chase, with the former being all in. Chase revealed {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a flopped set, but Suelflow flipped over {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} for a flopped set of his own.

Suelflow was ahead, but just to rub salt in Chase's wound, the {A-Spades} peeled off on the river!

Veenman Veering in the Right Direction

Richard Veenman raised from middle position and the button made it three bets. Veenman called and check-called the button’s bet on a {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop. Veenman checked again and his opponent made a bet when the {2-Spades} hit the turn. This time however, Veenman came in with a check-raise which his opponent called. On the {J-Spades} river, Veenman bet leaving himself with 300 behind. The button made the call and Veenman showed {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a flopped set and the pot.
