We caught the action on the turn, with a board reading {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and a pot of nearly 40,000 chips up for grabs. Gus Hansen fired 28,000 and Alaei studied his man before making the call. The river card was the {2-Clubs} and Hansen began slowly playing with his chips, repeatedly counting and shuffling a stack of twenty 5,000 chips. Eventually he decided on a bet of 95,000 and Alaei reacted by standing briefly before making the call. In his inimitable style, Hansen smiled sheepishly and asked "Ace good?" before turning over the {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and scooping the nearly 300,000 chip pot.

Sarah Grant talked to Gus Hansen about his hand, as well as his match-up with Jason Mercier.
