Schaaf Flushed Below 500K

Nivel 17 : 500/2,000, 4,000 ante

A player on the button opened for 10,000 on the button and James Schaaf responded by making it 25,000 to go from the small blind. The button player called.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Schaaf checked, which resulted in an all-in for about 95,000 from his opponent. Schaaf snap called.

Schaaf: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Opponent: {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Schaaf was a decent favorite to take an even more dominating chip lead, but the {5-Diamonds} turn gave his opponent a flush. The {6-Clubs} river bricked for Schaaf, who, despite losing the sizable pot, is still chip leader with about 430,000.

The Last Lady Standing

We just noticed that we only have one woman left in the field, and when we got to her table we found her in the big blind facing a raise from the Button. The Button had just bet out 25,000 and when the action got to Allen, she min raised and made it 50,000. After some distraught unintelligible sounds the Button folded

Martin Matters

When all the other players were leaving for break there was still one hand to be played at Table 370. Alexander Martin raised in early position, the Small Blind then moved all in for about 1,000 more chips, the Big Blind then moved all in for about 65,000. Eventually after thinking it over Martin made the call.

Cards were flipped and it was Martin's {10-}{10-} that was the best hand. He was going up against the Small Blind's {J-}{9-} and the Big Blinds {9-}{9-}. After all chips were put in their right pots the dealer flipped the rest of the cards. {10-}{6-}{5-}{8-}{J-}. With a set of tens Martin delivered the knock out blow to two players and gained a very healthy stack.

Lehmanski Quietly Taking Control

We found Maximillian Lehmanski playing a very large pot against an opponent at Table 364. All the cards were out and it was just the betting on the river that was left. On a board of {10-Spades}{Q-}{4-}{K-}{4-} Lehmanski bet out 13,000 and was then summarily raised by his opponent who made it 32,000 more.

Lehmanski then moved all in and his opponent eventually folded.

Miracle Queen On the River For Shaffer

With a few raises in front of him, a player in the cutoff shoved all in for about 90,000 and Brett Shaffer in middle position re-shoved all in and got a fold to go heads up.

The cutoff player showed {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Shaffer had {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The flop was bad for Shaffer and came {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} to give the cutoff trip fives. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} which changed nothing, but the river was the {Q-Spades} to give Shaffer the full house and send the player to the rail.

Shaffer continues to grow his monster stack and has about 350,000.

Filippi Not Losing the Hand, but Not Exactly Winning it Either

After a raise from the Under the Gun player action was on a player in middle position who moved all in for around 22000. After the all in it was on Amnon Filippi who flat called the bet. Eventually it got back to the Under the Gun player who went all in. Filippi made the call and everyone turned their cards over.

Filippi: {K-}{K-}
Middle Position: {Q-}{9-}
Under the Gun: {10-}{10-}

The dealer then rolled out five cards and they came as follows {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-}. The Under the Gun player along with Filippi chopped up their side pot, but the main pot belonged to the player in Middle Position, because he rivered a 9 high straight.

Unlucky River For West

Jeff Norman and Tim West got it all in preflop for Norman's last 45,000.

West had {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Norman had {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. A classic coin flip.

The flop was good for West with the {A-Spades} in the door and {9-Hearts}{6-Spades} completing it. The turn was the {8-Hearts} giving Norman a few more outs with an up and down straight draw, and the river completed that straight draw with the {5-Diamonds}

After the hand, Norman doubled to about 100,000 and West fell to 110,00
