Hosen Gets Hosed

Nivel 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Our unlucky bubble boy today was Stuart Hosen. We aren't sure when the chips all went in the middle, but the board read {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-}, and Hosen's {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} wasn't good enough to best his opponent's {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} meaning he was sent to the rail just short of the money.

A cheer spread through the tables as it was announced that all remaining players have made the money. Everyone left in the field is guaranteed to take home at least $2,786.

In the Money!

Nivel 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

It took about 60 minutes of play today, but we are now in the money! We expect the bustouts to somehow get even quicker, as several short stacks who were hanging on for dear life will now be shoving it in.

Hand-for-Hand Play

Nivel 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With 298 players remaining, we've officially reached the money bubble; as such, the tournament staff has just announced that hand-for-hand play will begin, which just so happens to coincide with the new level.

"You're Behind, Sir"

Josh Brikis put in a standard preflop raise only to have Thamas Anson reraise all in for 7,200. Brikis thought for a moment before gathering some chips and making the call. Anson stood from his chair and confidently flipped {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}.

"You're behind, sir," Brikis joked as he flipped {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, much to the amusement of his fellow players. Anson was clearly nervous given we're so close to the money, but luckily for him the board ran out a clean {6-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{Q-}.

One Less Lady

Nivel 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Joyce Mckaay raised to 2,000 from the hijack and the player on the button re-raised to 11,000. Action folded back to Mckaay who went all in. The button called and their hands were revealed.

Mckaay: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Button: {K-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Mckaay was sent to the rail only a few spots short of the money.

One Table Till The Money

Nivel 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We are just nine eliminations from the money. Now normally, the money bubble is a long dragged out process, but given how quick the bustouts have been today, we expect to be in the money fairly shortly.

Table 343

With so many amateurs and unknowns in today's field, it is always special to find a table with more than two notable names. That is the case over at Table 343, which currently plays host to Matt Affleck, Amit Makhija, and Stephen Kats. The table proved so tough that Robert Perelman, who had occupied Seat 8, has already been eliminated from the tournament. Unfortunately, Table 343 will be one of the first tables broke today, so we might not get to enjoy the all-star lineup.

Kats may be the least recognizable name to the casual poker fan, but he certainly proved his poker prowess this past year after traveling the WSOP-Circuit and earning enough points for the National Championship. While he didn't cash in that event, he showed he has the skills to compete with the big boys.

Flowers Not Blooming Today

Nivel 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Eliminations are coming early and often so far today, and its nearly impossible to get every one of them. In our last run through of the floor, we noticed that the seat that 2-time WPT winner Randal Flowers was in is now empty. According to his twitter, his {k-}{k-} lost to his opponents {a-}{q-} all in preflop. He has been eliminated from the tournament.
