Bag 'Em and Tag 'Em, Day 1's Over

Nivel 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Day 1 of Event #32: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em has concluded. Another enormous field of 2,828 runners came out for this one, making it another great starting day for a 2011 World Series of Poker event. Adam Lippert should be the overall leader heading into Day 2 with 144,800 in chips. That is, unless we missed someone hiding among the masses. Under 400 players remain and we're less than 100 eliminations away from the money.

A lot of faces were spotted throughout the day, but the following group was nowhere to be found at the end of it. MIke Leah, Phil Laak, Jean-Robert Bellande, Jerry Yang, Dwyte Pilgrim, Scotty Nguyen, Joe Cada, Kara Scott, Kathy Liebert, Adam Levy, Ronnie Bardah, Allen Cunningham and Jeff Madsen all played, but were eliminated on the day. Humberto Brenes, Jason Mercier, Gualter Salles, Andre Akkari, Martin Hruby and Randy Lew were some of the Team PokerStars players who hit the rail as well on Day 1.

There's plenty of notables still remaining in this field including Chino Rheem and Martin Kabrhel. Every time we see these two in an event, they're always stacking towers. Rheem bagged up 101,500 to end the night while Kabrhel finished with 94,800. They'll be towards the top of the bunch to start things off tomorrow. Joining them in the mix will be Kyle Cartwright, Layne Flack, Tim West, Brent Hanks, Josh Brikis, Todd Terry and Justin Young.

Day 2 is scheduled for a 2:30 PM PT start on Sunday and the plan is to work down to a final table. Of course, the event will probably play out a full ten levels before a final table is reached, which means we'll be coming back on Day 3 with a few tables, not just one. It's going to be another great day of poker, so be sure to keep your browsers pointed to PokerNews for all the live coverage from the 2011 WSOP!
