Brooks Busts Krause, Breaks 900k Mark

Gregory Brooks and Andreas Krause were heads up on a board of {6-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Brooks put out a bet of 18,000, and Krause responded with a pot size raise to 83,000. Brooks thought about it for 30 seconds before collecting the call and sliding it in. The river cam,e the {4-Spades}, and Krause went all in. Brooks called fairly quickly, and when the cards were flipped, it was easy to see why.

Brooks: {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Spades}
Krause: {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Krause had turned a straight, but Brooks rivered the nut straight, and he scooped the pot, eliminating Krause.

Patel Takes Some Off Ressler

Joseph Ressler raised to 13,000 on the button only to face a three-bet to 41,000 from Emil Patel in the big blind. Ressler made the call, and then called a bet of 35,000 on the {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop. The dealer proceeded to burn and turn the {6-Clubs}, which inspired Patel to bet his remaining 72,000. Ressler insta-folded and the hand came to an end.

It's Been A Thrill As Usual Will

Will "The Thrill" Failla got it all in on a flop of {4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} against the {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts} of Hans Winzeler who had already hit the nut straight.

The turn and river {8-Spades}{10-Clubs} were no help and Failla is out. Winzeler is now up to just under 200,000 after the hand.

Hit by a Chiu-Chiu Train

Chris Demaci has been eliminated.
Chris Demaci has been eliminated.

On a flop of {5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, the player in the small blind checked and David Chiu bet 30,500. Chris Demaci then bet pot (100,500) from the button. The small blind quickly folded and action was back on Chiu. Demaci only had around 40,000 behind, so Chiu counted out enough chips that if he did play, he'd be raising enough to put his opponent all in.

Chiu thought for a good two minutes before pushing the stack of chips in the middle. "Good luck," he said after Demaci made the call.

Demaci: {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Chiu: {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Chiu was ahead with top two pair and had a better flush draw than Demaci. "I'm in trouble," Demaci said. He surely was, and the {J-Hearts} turn didn't help his cause. When the {A-Clubs} blanked on the river, Demaci circled the table and shook hand's with the man who sent him home.

Mercier Does It Again

Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

On a flop of {6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} Jeff Lisandro checked to Jason Mercier on the button who bet 11,500. Lisandro raised the pot (56,500). Mercier asked how much he had behind and then re-raised pot again to 136,000 or so. Lisandro then pushed the rest of his chips in and Mercier called.

Mercier: {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Lisandro: {4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

Lisandro was ahead when the chips went in with a pair of tens, but that hasn't been a problem for Mercier this tournament, and he did it again with a {8-Clubs}{6-Spades} turn and river for the full house.

After losing the hand Lisandro said, "Geniuses of poker here.... why don't you go tweet the world about this one, you're going to put it on twitter aren't you?" Lisandro stormed off and Mercier yelled after him, "Don't be bitter Jeff." Lots of people seemed shocked but Mercier just shrugged and said, "It was pair versus pair... I had alot of outs."

He is now second in chips only to Greg Brooks (who happens to be sitting directly to his right at the moment.)

"Just to Show You I'm Defending"

Emil Patel raised to 10,000 on the button and received a call from David "Devilfish" Ulliott in the big blind. Devilfish checked the {K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, allowing Patel to fire out a bet. Ulliott quickly folded, but not before saying, "Just to show you I'm defending." He then flipped {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}(X).

That's a Rapp

A huge commotion went up from over table 372, where Stefan Rapp and Jared Bleznick were all in for the last of their chips.

Jeff Lisandro had called, but after our PokerNews team had managed to push through the crowd, we caught the board of {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}, but as it turns out, it was Bleznick that had hit the flush with his {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts} to double through Lisandro and take Rapp out.

As a result, we're now down to 26 players.

Ulliott Gets Runner Runner, Doubles Through DeMaci

David "The Devilfish" Ulliott raised to 15,000 in the cutoff, and Chris Demaci put a stack of orange T5000 chips into the pot, putting Ulliott all in. Ulliott opted to call, and the two players flipped their cards up.

Ulliott: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}
DeMaci: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}

The flop was a great one for Demaci, coming {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, leaving Ulliott drawing thin. The turn came the {7-Spades}, and Ulliot had picked up a striaght draw, and sure enough, the {9-Hearts} hit the river. Demaci simply joked "that was real," and shipped the 55,500 over to the Devilfish.
