Who Shows First?

There was some confusion as to which player would have to show first. Sands' opponent argued that it should be the last aggressor from the previous street. He even cited a ruling that was made that way yesterday in this event. At any rate, the floor was called over and the ruling was given that the player to the left of the button must show first, not the last aggressor on the previous street. The first player was upset, but had to show first. He revealed the 
for two pair and Sands mucked.
Why does this matter if he had the winning hand? Well, the first player would want to see what Sands was playing, but with this rule, he had to show first and Sands had the option to show or muck afterwards. In this case, Sands mucked when he saw he was beat.
