Cohen Fills Up

Jesse Cohen opened to 6,500 from under the gun, and found four callers including Matt Jarvis in the cutoff, and Haralabos Voulgaris on the button. The flop came down {5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, and the action checked to Jarvis who bet 12,500. Only Cohen called.

The turn was the {a-Clubs}, and both players checked.

The river was the {5-Clubs}, and Cohen led out for 27,500. Jarvis quickly called, and Cohen opened up {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for aces full of fives.

"Nice hand," Jarvis told him after mucking his cards.

Hanks Checks Out

Hafiz Khan started the action by opening to 6,500, Samad Rashid three-bet to 14,000 on the button, and Brent Hanks moved all in for 102,500 from the small blind. Khan re-shoved, Rashid folded, and the hands were opened.

Hanks: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Khan: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Hanks was crushed, and couldn't find an eight, straight, or flush when the board ran {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}{k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

"I folded ace-king," Rashid admitted after the hand.

Hanks started packing his things, paid his masseuse, said goodbye to his friend Dan O'Brien, then finally hit the rail, out in 57th.

One Justin Out, One Justin Up

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Justin Young open-pushed his last 39,500 and got a caller in our chip leader Justin Filtz. Young had {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Filtz {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and turn {A-Clubs}, giving Filtz a pair of aces and leaving Young asking for a fifth club. But the river was the {A-Diamonds}, and Young is out in 56th place.

Meanwhile, Filtz just keeps adding to that massive stack. He's now moved up over the 700,000-chip mark.

Daniel Alaei

Daniel Alaei moved all in preflop for 22,500 and Dan O'Brien called from middle position. Justin Filtz reraised to 55,000 from the small blind. O'Brien folded.

Filtz: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Alaei: {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Alaei was sent to the rail in 58th place.

Filtz has close to 500,000 in chips.

God Save The King

"King" Dan Smith just busted from the tournament. He was all in with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, and was dominated by David Gent's {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. Smith couldn't catch up, eliminating him from play.

Some for Schleger

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The board read {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs} with about 35,000 in the middle. Jeremy Ausmus (UTG) pushed out a bet of 26,000, then Schleger (UTG+1) raised to 56,000. Ausmus made the call. The river then brought the {9-Diamonds}. This time Ausmus checked, and Schleger carefully pushed out four towers of yellow chips -- a bet of 80,000. Ausmus took two solid minutes before deciding to let it go.

Schleger bounces up to about 260,000, while Ausmus sits with 156,000.

Negreanu Busts Harvalis

Nicholas Harvalis was all in and at risk against Daniel Negreanu preflop. Harvalis held {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}, and was racing against Negreanu's {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

"Of course you have overs," Negreanu joked.

"I'm a good player like that," Harvalis responded.

The flop was {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

"An ace would be really stupid," Negreanu blurted.

The turn and river came {6-Spades}, {5-Hearts} respectively though, securing the knockout for Negreanu, and eliminating Harvalis from the tournament.

A Few Chip Counts

Alaei Crippled

When we reached Table 365, the board read {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Daniel Alaei checked to Dobromir Nikov who bet 8,500, and Alaei check-raised to 24,000. Nikov called.

The turn was the {4-Hearts}, and Alaei checked again. Nikov slid out a tower of 26 yellow T1,000 chips, and Alaei tank-called.

The river was the {5-Clubs}, and Alaei checked a third time. Nikov announced all in, and pushed his remaining 70,000 in the middle. Alaei moved chips forward, signaling a call, and Nikov opened up {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for trip aces. Alaei never showed his hand, rather he cut out enough chips to make the call, sent them over to Nikov, and mucked his hand.

Joseph Serock

Joe Serock has been surviving on a short stack for a while -- since before the bubble burst -- but just now saw his fortunes finally run dry.

We arrived on the river, with Serock holding {A-Spades}{4-Spades}, Dan O'Brien {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, and the board reading {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Serock is out, while O'Brien is up around 265,000.
