Pocket Rockets Go Down In Flames

Nivel 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We heard a player announce "all-in," another player declare "I call," and hurried over to see {A-}{A-} turned over. With the inconspicuous board reading {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, the aces appeared to be a great hand, but Mike Marks revealed {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the nut straight.

The player holding pocket aces stood up and shot out of the tournament area, not bothering to see the river card come {9-Diamonds}. He hit the rail while Marks built his stack to over 5,500 with his deceptive hand.

Tens For Emmons

Nivel 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

David Emmons raised from late position but then the player on the button and the player in the big blind both moved all in. Emmons had both the other players covered but was faced with whether he wanted to risk a portion of his stack against two opponents. After deliberating for a bit, Emmons decided to call.

Emmons: {10-Clubs}{10-}
Opponent 1: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Opponent 2: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}

As it turned out, Emmons had made a great call and when the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, the other two players headed to the rail and Emmons' stack grew to 6,500.

After making deep runs in Event # 38, the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament, both Metin Kose and Ryan Laplante are in the house today looking to run the gauntlet one more time.

Victor Ramdin Runs Into a Better Two-Pair

We spotted Team PokerStars Pro Victor Ramdin and hung around long enough to catch him in a hand. After a player in middle position raised to 150, Ramdin called from the small blind and the big blind defended as well.

The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Ramdin checked, as did the big blind. The preflop aggressor continued his line, firing a bet of 325 into the middle. Ramdin made the call, the big blind released, and we were heads-up going to the turn.

After the {A-Diamonds} hit the table, both players tapped the table and the dealer revealed the {7-Clubs} on the river. Ramdin decided to lead out this time, tossing 1,050 into the pot. His opponent quickly made the call and Ramdin announced "kings up." The other player countered that by showing his {A-}{10-} for a better two pair and the pot was shipped his way.
