Dunst Bites the Dust

A player in early position opened for 2,000 and Tony Dunst raised all-in for 6,500 to his immediate left. Action folded back around to the original raiser, who called.

Dunst: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop gave Dunst a set to put him in the lead, however, a fourth club fell when the {2-Clubs} came on the turn, giving his opponent a flush. The {Q-Diamonds} river failed to improve Dunst to a full-house or quads and he was eliminated.

Gonzales Builds His Stack

We caught action between Christopher Gonzales and two other players. Gonzales took second place in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event at the WSOP last year.

A player in the cutoff postion raised to 1,625. The player on the button reraised to 3,625. Gonzales called from the small blind and the original raiser called. The flop ran out {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and Gonzales checked. The player on the button bet 4,525 and Gonzales reraised to 10,000. Both of his opponents folded.

Gonzales now sits with around 65,000 in chips.

No Mo Moneyaker

Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

We found Chris Moneymaker all in preflop with {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} against an opponent’s {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. The {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{J-Diamonds} flop gave Moneymaker bottom pair but his opponent hit top pair. Moneymaker would need an ace or deuce on the turn or river to survive and double up but it came the {Q-Spades} and {6-Spades} and the man who played a large role in the poker boom was eliminated.

Kling Keeps Climbing

Nivel 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

A player from the under the gun position called the blinds, Lauren Kling called from under the gun +1, a player in middle position, and the player in the small blind called. The player in the big blind checked his option.

The flop ran out {7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and action was checked around to Kling who made it 1,600 to go. She found one caller in the player from the big blind. The {k-Spades} hit on the turn and the player in the big blind checked. Kling made it 2,700 and her opponent folded instantly.
