A Nightmare Elimination For Volpe

Nivel 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ben Volpe - out
Ben Volpe - out

We only caught the tail end of the pot, hearing more of it than we saw. We heard Darryl Ronconi announce, "All in," and almost before the words were out of his mouth, Ben Volpe snap-called. Just a half-second later, Volpe spun away from the table and let out a big, "No!" as he took a lap around the carpet. When we walked up to the table, the board showed {3-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {4-Spades} {Q-Spades}, and Volpe had {K-Spades} {9-Spades} out in front of him. Ronconi had the only hand better, showing down {A-Spades} {8-Spades} for the nut flush.

It's the biggest pot we've seen today, and it has not gone well for Volpe. When the stacks were counted down, he was covered, and he'll be our 30th-place finisher here today. For Ronconi, it's Christmas come early, and he'll stack up the biggest pile of about 1.05 million now.

Sarwer Sent Off

Nivel 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jeff Sarwer - out
Jeff Sarwer - out

Ben Volpe opened to 26,000 from late position, and Jeff Sarwer three-bet shoved for almost 300,000 from the button. Volpe would fold, but not before Darryl Ronconi shoved all in himself from the big blind. "Well, I guess you woke up with a big one in the big blind," Sarwer lamented. Ronconi simply nodded as he pushed the rest of his chips forward, tower-by-tower.

Showdown
Sarwer: {A-Clubs} {10-Spades}
Ronconi: {K-Hearts} {K-Spades}

There's be no help for Sarwer on this board as it came out {6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, and he waited to see if he'd been eliminated. The stacks were counted down, and Ronconi's 331,000 ended up being the covering stack, sending Sarwer to the payout desk in 31st place.

GG, Bakes

Nivel 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
David Baker - out
David Baker - out

We didn't see how the money went in, but Eric Froehlich and David Baker tangled up in a battle of the blinds that left Baker all in. He was in good shape though, sitting with {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. Froehlich's {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs} was mediocre, but it improved in a hurry.

The board came {5-Spades} {K-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} (bink!) {8-Spades}, and E-Fro runs down a straight to drag the pot. With it comes the elimination of David Baker, run out in 32nd place. We'll wait for Froehlich to stack up before we can count him down.

Cards Kruel to Geyer

Nivel 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Adam Geyer raised to 27,000 from the cutoff before Christian Kruel three-bet all in for 235,000. Geyer had it counted it out a couple of times and thought for a bit before making the call.

Geyer: {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Kruel: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Kruel doubled up. He now has 490,000 while Geyer slips to 190,000.

Baron Bests Baker

Nivel 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

We only caught the tail end of this pot, walking up as the full {7-Hearts} {5-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} board was out on the table. Heads-up, Isaac Baron made a leading bet of 86,000, and David Baker made the call to see the cards.

Baron showed {9-Spades} {9-Hearts} for the full house, and Baker's muck leaves his stack reduced to 205,000 while Baron improves to 435,000.
