Lights! Camera! Action!

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Brad Garrett has been relatively serious today given his personality as he quietly builds a stack. But when the camera's come around, anyone within 20 feet of ear shot is laughing with the funny man. Recently, the ESPN crew picked up a great hand even though it didn't end well for Garrett.

A player in middle position raised preflop and Garrett was the lone caller in position. The flop came down {10-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {q-Spades} and his opponent led out this time for 1,600. Garrett raised to 3,600 and his opponent called.

Keep in mind, while this action is taking place, Garrett is talking up a storm and getting out of his chair to put on a show for the camera's. The river was the {6-Hearts} and his opponent bet 5,000. Garrett quickly made the call with {k-}{j-} for broadway. It was no good though as his opponent tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a full house.

Even in defeat Garrett found a way to make us all laugh and lost close to the minimum while doing so.

Martinez Takes a Hit

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Picking up the action on a {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} board with about 28,000 in the middle, Massimiliano Martinez was faced with a decision as Mark Newhouse was all in for about 18,000.

Martinez tanked for about 90 seconds before calling, but mucked when Newhouse tabled {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

Martinez slipped to about 90,000, while Newhouse is now up to roughly 64,000.

Tabatabai's Bet No Lie

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

A player in middle position raised to 750 and got two callers, including John Tabatabai on the button. The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and it checked to Tabatabai. The Welshman has been quite active at the table all afternoon, thus it came as no surprise to see him take the invitation to fire a bet of 1,000 into the middle.

The original raiser folded, then the remaining player gave Tabatabai a look before folding his {A-}{J-} face up. "Oh no," said Tabatabai with a grin, showing one of his cards -- {Q-Clubs}. "The nuts!" he grinned. "Top pair!"

The table laughed, but Tabatabai is the one with the biggest reason to smile at Table 262 as we begin to approach the end of Level 3. He has the biggest stack of those sitting there with about 66,000.

Voulgaris Heads Upwards

Haralabos Voulgaris raised to 800 from middle position getting called by the button and the big blind. The three saw a flop of {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} and it was checked to Voulgaris who continued with a 1,100 bet. The button made the call while the big blind folded. Both players checked the {6-Hearts} turn before Voulgaris bet 2,000 on the {K-Hearts} river, eliciting a fold from his opponent and boosting his stack above its starting number

Breaking Good

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

We had a total of 2,181 players take part in this Day 1c, and that brings the combined total up to a healthy 4,056. If you had the "over" on 6,000, go ahead and dig those tickets out of your pocket and prepare to bring them to the window.

We figure we've lost about 50 players so far, and the field is being broken down into nine-handed tables as the extra chairs come out and everyone gets a little more elbow room.

We're just about twenty minutes away from the dinner break.

Robert, *ahem*, Brad gives some back

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Brad Garrett raised from middle position to 750 and the big blind defended.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Garrett bet 1,125 when it was checked to him. His opponent called and the turn was the {k-Diamonds}. Both players checked. The river was the {7-Spades} and the player in the big blind position led out this time for 3,000. Garrett mulled it over a bit before making the call.

"You got the king?" Garrett asked. Then he saw the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} of his opponent and joked, "Oh yeah, that's even better." He quickly flashed {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and fell to 47,500 in chips.

Turner Tanks and Takes It Out on His Chips

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante
Jon Turner's chips hope he doesn't tank anymore.
Jon Turner's chips hope he doesn't tank anymore.

We found this hand on the river with Jon Turner staring into a 12,000 chip pot. The board read {9-Clubs} {5-Spades} {J-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {4-Hearts} and Turner bet out 6,600. His opponent was on the button and raised to 17,000.

Turner went deep into the tank, furiously shuffling and stacking his chips. His glare was kept low and his chips were taking punishment as the wheels were turning upstairs. After a few minutes Turner tossed in the chips to call and his opponent said, "Aww man, nice call. I've got nothing," as he showed {8-} {7-}.

Turner turned over {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades} for the win and has chipped up to 57,000.
