Davis Dusted

We found Raymond Davis short-stacked and all in preflop with {A-}{J-} against his opponent’s dominant {A-}{Q-}. Although Davis paired his jack on the turn, his opponent paired his queen on the flop to have Davis in bad shape as the board rolled out {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Davis was eliminated.

The Ladies Like Mizrachi

Eric Mizrachi was all in preflop for around 16,000 holding and called by an opponent on the button.

Showdown
Mizrachi: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Button: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

Mizrachi was ahead with his big pockets pair and looking to dodge an ace. The {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop gave his opponent a gut-shot straight draw, but neither the {3-Clubs} turn nor {3-Spades} river proved harmful to Mizrachi. He has grinded his short stack up to 35,000.

Russian, Then Rush Out

Dmitry Stelmak entered the Blue section of Amazon five minutes ago with about 15,000 - he quickly got it all in with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} against {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}. Both players managed to miss the board but it came {Q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} counterfeiting the Russian's tens and meaning his opponent scooped with ace high.

Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton

Josh Mancuso opened for 2,300, then Mike Sexton pushed all in for his last 16,000 or so. It folded back around, and Mancuso made the call.

Sexton showed {9-}{9-}, but had run into Mancuso's {Q-}{Q-}. The board ran out {2-}{2-}{2-}{5-}{10-}, and the "World Poker Tour" host hit the rail just before the end of Level 9. Mancuso moves up to about 90,000.

Have You Seen How Tan These Players Are?

Filippi Fleeing the Scene

Amnon Filippi
Amnon Filippi

In a recent hand we witnessed a short stacked Amnon Filippi move all in from late position after a player in early position made it 2,600 preflop. Action then folded around to a player in the small blind who tank folded for a few moments. When it did get back to the initial raiser he instantly threw in the proper amount of chips and cards were tabled.

Filippi: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The cards came out {4-Hearts}{a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and with an ace falling out of the deck and no tens making an appearance Filippi was eliminated on day 2b.
