Here Come the Men in Black!

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

As the spectators begin to pour out of the Amazon Room in preparation for the Ye Olde Bagge et Tagge, we should point out that the floor staff are once again rocking out in the same-colored suits.

Some of you may remember from Day 1d that the floor staff were participating in the first annual "WSOP".

This time, the floor staff are now decked out like the New Zealand rugby league team - all black. You can probably guess what the punchline is going to be already.

Yep. Today is "Black Friday."

Nyuk nyuk nyuk.

Garry "Beast Mode" Gates just busted Team PokerStars Pro Germany's Sandra Naujoks.

Gates' {Q-}{Q-} was up against her {A-}{K-} for Naujoks' last 125,000 or so. Gates went on to flop top set and hold from there. He's nearing 700,000 in chips now.

So Much For Iadisernia Hanging Onto Those Chips

After having recently knocked out two opponents in one hand with pocket aces, [Removed:150] was at it again in another big pot. It looked as though Iadisernia called a raise to 92,000 from Hoi Lee on the {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop and then moved all in when the {7-Diamonds} hit the turn. Lee immediately called and Iadisernia voiced his displeasure as he knew he was in trouble.

Lee: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Iadisernia: {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Although Lee was behind on the flop, he turned a full house to have Iadisernia in bad shape where only a jack on the river could save him. Unlike during his last big hand, Iadisernia’s rail was silent this time as the {9-Diamonds} hit the river. After it was counted out, Iadisernia paid Lee the 435,000 in chips that he owed him and took a huge hit down to 170,000. Shortly afterwards, his seat was empty and we believe that he busted.

Salsberg Ships Double KO

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Matt Salsberg started the action, opening to 22,000 from early position. David Meagher then three-bet shoved for 130,000 from middle position, and Eric Stocz iso-shoved for nearly 300,000 from the blinds. Salsberg called as fast as possible, and the hands were tabled.

Salsberg: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Meagher: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Stocz: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

"Please hold," Salsberg said with his hands on his head. "Please hold."

He held as the board ran {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, eliminating both Meagher and Stocz from the tournament.

Grey Skies for GnightMoon

Nivel 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We picked up this one on the turn, after it appeared Thomas "gnightmoon" Fuller (in the blinds), Max Heinzelmann (middle position), and Tom Grey (button) had checked around following a {6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and a check from Fuller. Heinzelmann bet 33,000, then Grey raised to 100,000. Fuller then announced he was all in, and Heinzelmann tanked for some time before letting his hand go. Grey, who had Fuller covered, made the call.

Fuller showed {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a set of deuces, but had run into a bad spot as Grey had {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a better set. The river was the {J-Spades}, and Fuller is out in 408th place.

Grey now has right at 1 million, while Heinzelmann has 1.52 million.

Holley Forced to Fold

Tod Holley limped in from early position, a player in middle position raised to 24,000, and the action folded back to Holley who called. The flop fell {5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, and Holley checked to his opponent who continued for 33,000. Holley called.

The turn was the {q-Clubs}, and Holley's opponent moved all in out of turn. The bet did not stand, unless Holley checked, and Holley asked for a count. The bet would be for 144,000. Holley went deep into the tank, chomping on his unlit cigar and rubbing his face. He eventually folded, and his opponent raked in the pot.

The ESPN camera crews hung around so that they could capture the cards on their small, handheld camera, and Holley was able to coax his opponent to open his hand for everyone. It was the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, which made Holley feel great about his fold.

Cheong Cleans One Out

Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

The player under the gun moved all in for 90,000 and Joseph Cheong made the call from the small blind.

Cheong: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
UTG: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

It was off to the races for the UTG’s tournament life and he was poised for the double up through the {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop and {4-Clubs} turn. That was until Cheong pulled one out of Barry Greenstein’s bag and spiked an {A-Spades} on the river to knockout his opponent.
