Hinkle Dodges Schaff's Monster

Nivel 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We picked up the action on the flop as the dealer spread out a {K-Clubs} {A-Spades} {4-Spades} to start. Austin Schaaf was the bettor, and he made it 36,000 to go. Blair Hinkle called, and Schaff checked to him him on the {9-Hearts} turn. Hinkle took his cue to bet 77,000, and Schaff called. On the {3-Hearts} river, Schaff check-called another bet, 115,000 this time.

Hinkle could be forgiven if he thought his {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} was good. It wasn't. Schaff showed down the surprise {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}, and his set of kings bumps him all the way up to 560,000. For Hinkle, it's a setback to 365,000 or so, but he's likely content to get off as cheaply as he did with those strong hands colliding.
