Wilder Stays Involved in Big Pots

Nivel 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Harrison Wilder has been active since the start of this table playing in most of the hands. He raised from the cut off position and found a caller in Sean Nguyen in the big blind. The flop ran out {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}.

Nguyen checked, Wilder bet, Nguyen raised, and Wilder called. The turn brought the {7-Clubs}. Nguyen bet, Wilder raised, Nguyen re raised, and Wilder called.

The river was the {q-Hearts}. Nguyen led out with a bet and Wilder flat called. Nguyen showed {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Wilder flipped up the {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the flush.

Matt Matros Eliminated in 11th Place ($11,910)

Nivel 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

The defending champion Matt Matros was sent to the rail after running into John Myung's Pocket Aces.

Matros raised and Myung re raised before the flop. Matros called. The flop ran out {2-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. Myung led out with a bet and Matros called. The {4-Clubs} came on the turn. Myung put Matros all in and he called.

Myung flipped up {A-Diamonds}{A-} and Matros showed {7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The river came the {7-Spades} sending Matros home in 11th place.

The players are now ten handed at one table but it will not be the official final table until they are down to nine players. The players have moved to the other side of the Amazon room to resume play.

Chris Overgard Eliminated in 12th Place ($11,910)

Nivel 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Chris Overgard managed to score a crucial double-up earlier in this blind level, but he's just busted in 12th place by Scott Clements, who is now well over 600,000 in chips.

It did take Clements two bites of the cherry in order to do it though - earlier in the level, on a flop that read {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Clements and Overgard got their money into the middle after some heavy post-flop action. Clements showed {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for the gut-shot, but trailed Overgards' {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} all the way as the turn and river was spread {8-Clubs}, {10-Clubs}.

However, that double-up was short-lived. A few hands later, the action folded to Overgard who raised from the button before Clements three-bet it from the blinds. Overgard called, then they got all their money into the middle after the flop of {10-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{A-Spades}.

Clements{ Ad}{10-Hearts}
Overgard: {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Neither the turn of the {6-Diamonds} nor the river {5-Spades} were of any help to Overgard and he was given his marching orders. If it was any consolation (which we're pretty sure it would be), Overgard was the first player to make five figures in this year's event. Well played, sir!

Bryan Pimlott Eliminated in 13th Place ($9,467)

Nivel 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Scott Clements has been tearing it up on his table, now up to 590,000 in chips after taking a big pot off Bill Davis before eliminating Bryan Pimlott.

Earlier, Clements came in with a raise and the action folded around to Davis who called from the small blind to go heads-up to a flop of {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}. Davis check-called Clements after the flop, then did the same on the turn of the {4-Diamonds} and the river {2-Diamonds}. Clements' {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} were more than enough to take that pot down and become the first person to move past the magical 500K chip mark.

A short time later, the action folded around to Pimlott who came in with a button raise; Clements three-bet it, but Pimlott shot back with the four bet. Not to be deterred, Clements five-bet it, so Pimlott opted to just call, leaving himself with just 2,000 as they went to the flop of {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

Both players elected to just stick the chips in and table their cards:

Clements: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Pimlott: {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The turn and river ran out {8-Hearts}, {K-Clubs} and Pimlott was no more. If it was any consolation, Pimlott was the first player to bank

Jeff Williams Eliminated in 14th Place ($9,467)

Nivel 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Jeff Williams has followed Paul Schumer to the rail in 14th place after being busted at the hands of Harrison Wilder.

The action folded to Thomas Jamieson who raised from early position; Wilder reraised from middle position but Williams four-bet it. Jamieson got out of the way as Wilder called to go heads-up to a flop that read {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Wilder checked, Williams bet all-in and Wilder called, tabling {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for the nut flush draw against Williams' {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Despite having "got it in good", Wilder binked the {8-Hearts} on the turn, and with the river {K-Spades} nothing more than a formality, Williams headed out of the Amazon Room to collect $9,467 for his efforts.
