Time For a Break, Mark

Mark Demirdjian has continued his late crushing of Day 2a here, managing to accumulate more chips than any player in in his field or over in 2b. We were recently passing by his table as he got up out of his chair to seemingly leave the table for a moment. "Got so many chips your going to have a break?" one of the players at the table joked.

"You haven't hit a set for ten minutes, so your going take some time off?" some others at the table joined in.

We can't find any past results for Demirdjian, but this certainly is a good start to creating a very illustrious poker resume.

Ho Lotta Chips

Moments ago, Maria Ho and two opponents got all of their chips in the middle preflop, and Ho had them dominated with aces.

Opponent 1{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Opponent 2{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}, and Ho now has 250,000 chips.

TattyTats Eliminated & Insulted

After some preflop action Tatjana Pasalic moved all in from the small blind for 22,600. Kahlil Qaqish called and talbed {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}. Pasalic was at risk holding {K-Hearts} {Q-Spades}.

The ESPN crew instructed the dealer to wait and while they were waiting the player in the nine seat said plainly, "You're not in good shape."

"Hey, I work out everyday," Pasalic jabbed back with a smile.

With a camera at the table the board ran {Q-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {9-Spades} and Pasalic's Main Event was over.

Bernard Lee (Day 1b) is flirting with a 200K stack
Bernard Lee (Day 1b) is flirting with a 200K stack

Bernard Lee opened to 2,400 from under the gun, and a player in the big blind defended. The flop fell {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}, and Lee's opponent check-called a 2,900-chip bet. The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, both players checked, and the {7-Spades} completed the board.

Lee's opponent quickly bet out 3,200, and Lee snap-called. The player showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for air, and Lee tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} for a king-high flush.

O'Brien Is Outta Here

Huck Seed raised it up to 2,000 in middle position, and Dan O'Brien raised all in from the hijack for around 15,000. It got back around to Seed, and after a few seconds of thought, he made the call.

Seed: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
O'Brien: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

O'Brien would need alot of help to survive, and the flop brought none, coming {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The {10-Hearts} on the turn kept Seed out in front, and the river brought the {3-Clubs}. O'Brien headed to the exits, while Seed increased his stack to 48,000.

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

James Dempsey opened to 2,000 from middle position, Daniel Negreanu called in the hijack, and a third player re-raised to 8,500 from the small blind. Only Negreanu called.

The flop fell {8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, and Negreanu's opponent led for what looked like 7,700. Negreanu called.

The turn was the {8-Spades}, and Negreanu's opponent slowed down, check-calling 13,500 from Kid Poker. The {10-Clubs} completed the board, and the player checked again. Negreanu fired 34,500, and his opponent tank-called, tabling {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Negreanu showed {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for trip eights, and shipped the pot.

The very next hand, Negreanu opened to 2,200, a player in the cutoff called, and the dealer fanned {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Spades}. Negreanu led out for 2,800, and the player called. Both players checked on the turn ({k-Hearts}) and the river ({k-Diamonds}), and Negreanu showed {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. His opponent had {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for kings full of sixes, and won the pot.

The next hand, Negreanu opened to 2,200 from middle position, and a player three-bet jammed for 14,800. Negreanu folded {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} face up, and the player showed the {4-Clubs}.
