Chips for Chan

Terrence Chan and Nenad Medic were heads up with the board reading {q-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Chan checked, Medic tossed out 10,300, and Chan called.

The river was another queen - the {q-Hearts} - and Chan checked again. Medic knuckled behind. Chan tabled {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for queens and sixes, Medic mucked, and Chan picked up the pot.

Karp Doubles

Upon arriving at the table, Steve Karp had his last 22,000 in front of him on the final board of {J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. After some tanking, his opponent called and Karp turned over the {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the nut flush. He doubled and moved to 86,000 in chips.

Blom's Continues to Battle

Four players, including Viktor Blom, had built a pot of about 15,000 when the flop arrived {Q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}. It checked to Blom who bet 5,600, and two of his three opponents called. The remaining trio of players then checked the {J-Hearts} turn.

The river brought the {A-Diamonds}. The first player to act checked, Blom also checked, then the third player bet 6,000, forcing the first to fold, but Blom made the call. Blom's opponent turned over {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} for a rivered pair of aces, and Blom mucked.

Affleck Eliminated

Matt Affleck
Matt Affleck

Nino Ryschawy opened to 2,400 from middle position and action folded around to Matt Affleck in the cutoff seat, who three-bet to 5,800. Undeterred, Ryschawy then four-bet to 12,400. Affleck tanked for a bit and then announced he was all in for about 40,000 total. Ryschawy called and hands were revealed.

Affleck: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Ryschawy: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} board failed to improve Affleck's hand and he stood up and wished the table good luck before making his exit.

An Orbit With Jason Mercier

Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

We just watched a full orbit with Jason Mercier and this is how it all panned out. It started with Mercier in the big blind and by the time the orbit was over, Mercier made a small profit and ate plenty of candy skittles.

  • Hand One: Folded to the player on the button, he raised it up to 2,600 and Mercier folded. Back to looking at his phone.
  • Hand Two: Jason Mercier three-bet to 7,200 out of the small blind after a middle position player opened to 2,700. Nobody wanted to rumble and Mercier raked in some chips.
  • Hand Three: When the under the gun player opened it up to 3,300, Mercier folded from the button, along with the rest of the table. Mercier ate a few skittles and bopped his head while wearing his headphones.
  • Hand Four: The dealer accidentally exposed Mercier's {3-Diamonds} and he was given a new hole card. Loaded up on more skittles, he then folded from the cutoff when a player opened to 3,100. For your information, his ended up being the hand that Melanie Weisner busted out on, details of which can be seen below.

  • Hand Five: Another fold, this time from the hijack. More skittles were enjoyed and more time on his phone.
  • Hand Six: Even though Mercier was seemingly not paying attention to the table, he said his first words here, suddenly saying, "six hundred." The small blind had only put out 500 and Mercier picked up on this very quickly. He then shared some skittles with Maurice Hawkins on his left and folded his cards after the player on his right opened the pot.
  • Hand Seven: Again Mercier was seemingly paying more attention to his phone then the table, but spoke his second words of the orbit. "It's a misdeal," said Mercier as the dealer had made a slight mistake that nobody picked up on. He was right and the dealer dealt the cards out again. Mercier then opened this pot to 2,400 and Hawkins called on his left. The player in the cutoff also called and the dealer turned over a {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop. Mercier threw out a bet of 2,900 here and his two opponents mucked their hands.
  • Hand Eight: As this hand started, Mercier waved to two girls on the rail, one of them being his fiancé. He then opened the pot to 2,400 and no player at the table wanted to play with him and so he picked up the blinds and antes.
  • Hand Nine: He quickly folded his cards from under the gun and went to greet his fiancé.

Ben Lamb is simply en fuego
Ben Lamb is simply en fuego

Ben Lamb and an opponent were heads up with the board reading {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Lamb tossed out 13,300, and his opponent called.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds}, and Lamb quickly fired 25,500. His opponent announced, "call."

Lamb turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} for top-top, and his opponent showed {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Lamb, who recently tweeted that he went from 26,000-235,000 last level, is now up above 300,000 chips.

Boutin Wins A Monster

"I call I have aces!" These were the words we heard Burt Boutin shout as we walked by his table. When we took a look, we saw that Boutin was setting himself up to win a huge pot, as he called his opponents all in with {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. His opponent, who had about 130,000, held {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, and would need a ton of help.

"Hold them no diamonds!" Boutin told the dealer before the flop came down {6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. It was about as good a flop as Boutin could have asked for, as his opponent would now need running kings or straight cards that weren't clubs to win the pot. There were no miracles on this hand, as the board completed {3-Diamonds} and {10-Clubs}.

After that hand, Boutin jumps all the way up to 340,000, and is one of our chip leaders as we approach one hour left in the day.
