Ozhenilok Takes Another Pot From Buchanan

Shawn Buchanan raised to 12,000 and Anatolii Ozhenilok called. The flop was {A-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {5-Clubs} and Ozhenilok check-called a 13,000 Buchanan bet. The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and this time Ozhenilok came out betting for 20,000 and Buchanan called. The river was the {2-Hearts} and Ozhenilok bet 35,000 and Buchanan called.

Ozhenilok won the pot with two-pair.

Mizrachi Grinding Hastings

Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

Brian Hastings now has the shortest stack in this tournament after tangling again with Michael Mizrachi. On a board reading {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} Hastings bet into "The Grinder" and he raised it up to 60,000. Hastings made the call and the dealer put the {Q-Diamonds} onto the river. Hastings checked, Mizrachi made a bet of 150,000 and after almost 90 seconds Hastings called.

Mizrachi: {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Hastings: Mucked

Mizrachi is certainly in charge of this match.

Anatolii Ozhenilok v Shawn Buchanan

Anatolii Ozhenilok seems to bet getting the better of things in the early encounter with the hooded Shawn Buchanan. In a limped pot we saw a flop of {J-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {6-Spades} and Buchanan bet 10,000 and Ozhenilok called. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Buchanan bet 23,000 and Ozhenilok called. The final card to be laid down was the {Q-Hearts} and Buchanan checked to Ozhenilok who bet 52,000 to win the pot.

Hairabedian Takes Chips From Powell

Brian Powell raised to 12,000 and Roger Hairabedian made the call. The pair saw the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Clubs} make up the flop, neither player seemed too interested and they both checked. The {K-Hearts} turn was checked by Hairabedian, Powell bet 7,000 and his opponent called. Both players checked the {7-Diamonds} on the river.

Hairabedian showed the {K-Diamonds}, which was enough to win the hand but the dealer showed his second holdecard too, the {4-Diamonds}

Third Pair Good For The Grinder

Brian Hastings opened the betting with a raise to 15,000, a raise that Michael Mizrachi called quickly.

The dealer burned a card and put out the {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop. Mizrachi checked and Hastings checked behind. The turn was the {7-Spades} and Mizrachi lead into Hastings with a bet of 15,000 and Hastings made the call. The {J-Spades} on the river did not slow The Grinder and he bet 20,000. Hastings sat figuring out his options and he decided a raise to 90,000 was the best but he turned out to be wrong as Mizrachi instantly called and showed {7-Clubs}{5-Spades} whihc was the best hand.

Buchanan Gets Some Back

From the button, Shawn Buchanan raised to 12,000, and Anatolii Ozhenilok defended.

The flop brought {K-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {6-Clubs} and another bet of 12,000 from Buchanan, and Ozhenilok check-called. The {Q-Hearts} drew a pair of checks, and Ozhenilok took the lead on the river {J-Clubs}. He made it 21,000, and Buchanan considered carefully before calling.

Ozhenilok, and Buchanan tried to, but he had to show his {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} to win the pot.

Ozhenilok Takes the Lead

Anatolii Ozhenilok started his match as a more than 2:1 underdog, but he's not wasted any time gaining an edge.

In the last pot, there was already more than 150,000 in the middle when the river came down on a {9-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {9-Spades} {7-Clubs} {6-Spades} board. Ozhenilok was leading the betting, and he made it 50,000 to see his cards. Buchanan agonized over the call for a couple minutes, but he eventually stacked the chips out into the pot.

Ozhenilok tabled {2-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} for the boat, and Buchanan flashed his {9-Diamonds} as he mucked. It's the Belarusian with a small chip lead now.

Hastings Draws First Blood

In a limped pot both Brian Hastings and Michael Mizrachi saw a flop of {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {4-Diamonds}. Hastings checked and Mizrachi bet 6,000. This bet prompted a check-raise by Hastings, it was a small one raising the pot to 16,000, and Mizrachi called. The turn of {J-Diamonds} was checked through before we had the {7-Hearts} river. Hastings checked and Mizrachi bet 20,000 and Hastings called.

"You are good," said Mizrachi.
