Alessandro Pichierri was already all in with around 300,000 in the middle as Simone Ramakers and Krasimir Yankov went to the river on a board of 3♦2♠9♦5♠K♠. Ramakers then bet 200,000 from the button and Yankov, in the big blind, tanked for a minute before folding.
Ramakers turned over 7♦7♥ for a pair of sevens. "I knew she was bluffing," a despondent Pichierri said as he mucked queen-five before heading off to collect his payout.
At the same time at another table, Pawel Wojciehowski and Manoe Betrix were heads-up on a board of 4♣5♦2♠7♣5♥. Wojciehowski then moved all in from the big blind. Betrix used four time banks before calling for his last 400,000, turning over J♥J♣. Wojciehowski, though, had 8♣6♦ for a straight to send Betrix to the rail.
The action folded to Ofer Sisso, who tossed his 58,000 in the middle from the small blind. Robin Berggren asked for a count in the big blind and then made a quick call.
Ofer Sisso: A♦10♦
Robin Berggren: K♣6♣
Both players flopped a pair on 9♦K♥A♠ but Sisso's aces remained best on the 9♠ turn and 2♠ river to double him up.
After hearing of the unlikely double-up on the feature table, Michal Schuh looked despondent as he was forced all-in from the big blind.
As the dealer dished out the cards, Schuh asked for a round of folds but found no such luck as Dmytro Stetsiura and Gaspare Sposato limped in from the hijack and small blind.
The two active players checked the action down to showdown for the final board to read J♥4♦2♣K♥9♥.
Stetsiura accidentally showed his cards early and tabled A♣3♦. Schuh had yet to take a look at his cards and when the tournament director came over to tell the players to get the cards on their backs, Schuh turned over the 2♥, meaning he had at least a pair. A second heart would also give him a flush.
Sposato tabled J♣7♠ for a pair of jacks. Schuh needed to make two pair to survive.
Schuh rolled over his second card, the A♠, which confirmed him as the 2024 WSOP Europe Main Event bubble.
Schuh quickly exited but it hasn't been a bad series for the retired pro. Schuh topped the field in this year's WSOPE Colossus for his first bracelet and €171,350.
Kees van Brugge surrounded his last 76,000 with his time bank chips and announced he was all in from early position. Action then folded to Boris Angelov in the big blind. "I only looked at one," Angelov said as he called.
Kees van Brugge: A♠3♠
Boris Angelov: A♦7♠
"Chop," Van Brugge said heading to the flop, which came 6♦3♥2♠ to give him the lead with a pair of threes.
"Okay, chop," Angelov joked. The rest of the board ran out 2♥6♣ and Van Brugge doubled up on the first hand after the bursting of the money bubble.
