Mengouchi Fills Up For an Early Double

Nivel 1 : Blinds 100/100, 0 ante
Mourad Mengouchi
Mourad Mengouchi

After a player on the button limped in, Mourad Mengouchi raised to 700 in the small blind and Stefan Cupic three-bet to 2,300 in the big blind. Only Mengouchi called and they went heads-up to the A87 flop.

Cupic continued for 1,300 and Mengouchi raised to 6,700. Cupic called and the 8 fell on the turn.

Mengouchi checked and Cupic bet 4,200. Mengouchi check-raised again, this time making it 16,200 as Cupic stuck around once more to see the 3 river.

Mengouchi then moved all in for 24,500, sending Cupic deep into the tank. Several minutes went by before another player called the clock.

"It's 100,000 chips. I can take some time. All in the first level," Cupic angrily said. He eventually called and Mengouchi showed 87 for a full house. Cupic mucked AJ and Mengouchi doubled up.

Cupic was left with around 3,000 and was eliminated shortly afterward as the first casualty of the Main Event.

Piznak Coolers an Opponent to the Rail

Nivel 2 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Nazariy Piznak and an opponent were heads-up on the river with the board showing 3Q39J and around 3,000 in the pot. The two players then got into a raising war that ended with Piznak's opponent all in for 40,000 from early position as Piznak called in the big blind to put him at risk.

Piznak turned over JJ for a rivered full house and his opponent angrily tossed 53 into the muck as Piznak took down the massive pot to send his opponent to the rail.

Lyons Catches an Opponent Making a Move

Nivel 3 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 6A10, a player in the hijack bet 4,000 and Juan Lyons called on the button.

The turn was the Q and the hijack moved all in for 10,500. Lyons spent a few minutes in the tank and eventually called to put his opponent at risk.

"Oops," the at-risk player said, showing 87 for just eight-high. Lyons had AK and the river came the 8 as last year's runner-up scored the knockout.

The flop came 926 and Perazzi moved all in for 17,400. The hijack snap-called for around the same amount, while Antovian took a minute but eventually got out of the way.

Abraham Serrano
Abraham Serrano

Abraham Serrano limped in from under the gun and Nazariy Piznak came along from the hijack. Mourad Mengouchi then raised to 4,000 in the big blind and only Serrano called.

The flop came Q6K and Mengouchi bet 5,600. Serrano then moved all in and pat Mengouchi on the back as Mengouchi buried his head in his hands before sliding in his last 70,000.

Mourad Mengouchi: Q8 All in
Abraham Serrano: KK

Serrano showed down top set, while Mengouchi had a pair and flush draw. The 2 fell on the turn to give Mengouchi his flush, but Serrano spiked the K on the river to make quads and send Mengouchi, who had been sitting on a big stack most of the day, crashing to the rail.

Team888 Pro Ian Simpson's former seat at this table is also empty as he'll have to try again on another bullet.
