O'Dwyer Plays the Board and Loses

Playing the board is rarely a winning proposition in any poker tournament, as Steve O'Dwyer just found out.
O'Dwyer opened to 700 in the cutoff and EPT Berlin's champion Davidi Kitai defended his big blind with a call. Kitai then check-called a 1,500 bet on a 
flop, then a 3,600 bet on the 
turn. That was the last of the betting because both players checked the arrival of the 
river.
"I'm playing the board," informed O'Dwyer
Kitai turned over 
and is closing in on 100,000 chips.
