Are you Mad?

Nivel 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Andrey Zaichenko might be, or very clever indeed.

He open-folded {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} to a Marvin Rettenmaier bet on the river of a {5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} board. That helped Rettenmaier move past the 60,000 barrier.

Quads for O'Dwyer

Nivel 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Steve O'Dwyer has just hit quad jacks — not the online radio show — here in Deauville.

The chips went into the middle of a {j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop, Chris McClung holding {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and O'Dwyer the {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. O'Dwyer needed to fade a heart in order to double up, but when the {J-Clubs} fell on the turn O'Dwyer locked up the hand. The {10-Clubs} completed the board and O'Dwyer doubled up.

Show One Card

Nivel 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Table 14 is in high spirits and they've decided to play the Show one card game. The dealer randomly chooses a card from the winning player's hand and it makes for great fun and discussion after a hand's complete.

Ynvge Steen was the player who had to show one after his three-bet was successful on a {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop. Ramin Hajiyev bet 1,700 before the button raised to 4,100 and Steen to 11,400.

Both players folded and the dealer picked {10-Clubs}. "Oooo, that was a good card to choose!" commented Hajiyen.

Here is a selection of chip counts from around the room.

Another One Bites the Dust

Nivel 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Andrei Revenko has become the third player to leave the tournament today. Jason Koon, who'd not long joined the tournament, informed us of the hand.

Revenko got his stack in with {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} on an A-5-7-2 (two club) board. Gleb Tremzin was his opponent in the hand; he called and faded all river outs.

Wydrowski Checks it Down With the PCA Champion

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Dimitar Danchev
Dimitar Danchev

Dimitar Danchev recently won the PCA Main Event and he is now attempting to take down the High Roller event here in Deauville. That quest is not going to plan so far, but he has just added a few chips to his stack.

Marcin Wydrowski was under the gun and he min-raised to 800. Nobody wanted to take Wydrowski on at first, but Danchev called from the big blind to give Wydrowski a customer.

The {K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop was ready and willing for a continuation-bet but when Danchev checked Wydrowski checked behind. The {9-Diamonds} turn also went check-check, as did the {6-Diamonds} river. Danchev won with his {J-Spades}{6-Spades}, Wydrowski showed the {A-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Steen Stacked; Will Try to Return

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Ynvge Steen said to his table, "Am I that bad?" when they said they would wait for him to re-buy after he was stacked by Imad Derwiche.

Steen had opened from early position and called in four spots to an {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop. Derwiche bet a near pot-sized 3,000 and Steen riased to 6,800. The other players involved folded before Derwiche set Steen in for 16,000 he had behind. Call.

Derwiche: {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Steen: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.

Steen went off to see if his bank card would allow him to re-buy. His new stack will be taken out if that fails.

Pollak Four-bet Wins Pot

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Steven Silverman opened the betting from the cutoff with a raise to 1,050. The button was with Artem Metalidi and he three-bet to 2,500. Benjamin Pollak checked his cards and he must have seen something he liked because a few moments later he put in a four-bet to 6,400.

Silverman quickly released his hand, as did Metalidi.

Nemeth Takes on Marquez

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Ana Marquez raise to 1,000 from under the gun and to her direct left was Dorin Rauta. He called and the next aggression action came from Andras Nemeth on the button who raised to 3,400. Both Marquez and Rauta called.

The flop came down {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and it was checked over to Nemeth. The Hungarian bet 4,700 and only Marquez called. The dealer put the {10-Diamonds} onto the turn and it was greeted by a check from Marquez and a check behind from Nemeth. The {A-Spades} received the same treatment, both players checked.

"King-queen," said Nemeth before turning over {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

Marquez rechecked her cards before flicking them back towards the dealer.
