Santerne Picks Off Torelli's Bluff

Nivel 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Thomas Santerne opened to 3,500 from under the gun and Alec Torelli called from the small blind.

The flop came 973 and Torelli check-called a 7,000 bet from Santerne.

Both players checked the 5 turn leading to the K river. Torelli bet 11,000 and Santerne called. Torelli immediately mucked and Santerne took the pot without having to show his hole cards.

Adam Martinsson opened 3,500 in the cutoff and Thomas Eychenne called on the button before Jiaming Zhao put in a three-bet to 13,500 from the big blind. Martinsson mucked his hand, but Eychenne stuck around with a call.

The dealer spread a flop of AQ3, and Zhao continued for 8,000 which Eychenne called.

The 4 fell on the turn, and Zhao fired again, this time for 15,000. Eychenne matched the bet once again.

The A paired the board on the river, and Zhao slowed down with a check. Eychenne used his full 30 seconds before jamming his stack of 81,500 across the line. Zhao didn't take much time before making the call.

Eychenne rolled A9 for trip aces, and Zhao tabled KQ as he paid off the bet.

Boris Kolev raised to 3,000 under the gun and Tomi Brouk called in the hijack, as did button Alejandro Lococo and big blind Ahmed Karrim.

Kolev continued for 4,000 on the AQJ flop and Brouk called. Lococo folded, while Karrim also called to create a three-way pot to the Q turn.

Action then checked to Brouk who bet 17,000. Only Kolev called to see the 5 river, where Brouk moved all in. Kolev burned through multiple time banks until he called for his last 23,000.

"I got it," Brouk said, showing AQ for a full house. Kolev tossed A10 into the muck as he made an early exit.

Poker's Best Return at 12:30 p.m. for Day 2 of the the €10,300 EPT High Roller

Sam Grafton

Welcome to Day 2 of the €10,300 EPT High Roller here at the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona stop. Cards are scheduled to be in the air at 12:30. p.m. local time. Of the 386 runners that came to Casino Barcelona yesterday, just 156 advanced to Day 2. However, registration is still open through to the start of play today, so the prize pool information is yet to be known.

Canada's Sam Greenwood holds the chip lead going into the day after he accumulated 405,000. The high-stakes crusher has amassed over $35 million in career tournament earnings as he looks to build upon this total.

However, he is far from the only notable player to return to the felt today. Several PokerStars ambassadors still remain, including Sam Grafton (258,500), Benjamin Spragg (155,000), and Alejandro Lococo (75,500).

Last year's champion Ka Kwan Lau was unfortunate to have not found a bag for Day 2. The same can be said for 2023 sixth-place finisher Alexandre Reard. However, both of these players have the opportunity to re-enter before the start of play today.

Play resumes at 12:30 p.m. local time today in Level 11 with blinds at 1,000/1,500 with a 1,500 big blind ante. Registration closes at the start of play today and levels will be 50 minutes in length. 12 levels are on the docket today.

Stay tuned to PokerNews as we provide continued coverage of the €10,300 EPT High Roller and all other events here at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona stop.
