Over the years, countless players have experienced all that the European Poker Tour has to offer. Sam Grafton is no exception.
So, as the EPT Barcelona festival gets underway today — marking the tour's 20th anniversary — we spoke with the PokerStars Ambassador about his EPT memories and the impact it has had on his life.
It's easy to understate Grafton's poker career. With over $15 million in career earnings and now a member of PokerStars Team Pro, he's played on countless tours in countless venues and has seen the industry continue to change and evolve.
"Poker is a super dynamic industry," said Grafton. "A lot of companies and tours have come and gone over the course of my career. Then, there are other ones that have become plinths in the poker calendar of most players.

Jan-Eric Schwippert opened to 3,000,000 under the gun, and action folded to Ronald Steinmetz in the big blind, who three-bet jammed with the slightly covering stack. Schwippert quickly called it off.

Schwippert was in trouble versus Steinmetz's overpair, and the K♣4♣8♠6♠K♥ runout confirmed his exit, Steinmetz taking the pot with a better two pair, kings and nines.
Steinmetz celebrated enthusiastically when the river hit, hitting the table and shouting "Yes!"

Christophe Pommier opened to 1,000,000 from the button and Berthold Winz defended from the big blind.
The flop came J♣10♦8♠ and Winz check-called a 500,000 bet from Pommier.
On the K♥ turn Winz led out with a bet of 2,000,000 that was called by Pommier.
Both players checked the 7♠ river. Winz tabled 8♥7♦ for two pair made on the river and Pommier, clearly disgusted by the situation, promptly mucked.

Steinmetz was ahead with the bigger queen and let out a triumphant "Yes!" after holding up on the J♥5♠6♦4♥9♠ runout. Pommier was sent to the rail in third place while Steinmetz took the pot. He entered heads-up play against Berthold Winz, who has nearly a 3:1 chip lead.
