The action is heating up at the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona with Day 2 of the €2,200 Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) High Roller, which gets underway at 12 p.m. at the Casino Barcelona.

A total of 2,064 entries were recorded across the two starting flights which generated a prize pool of €3,928,000. There were 309 players that advanced into the money and Day 2, and payout information will be announced shortly before the tournament resumes.

Peter Kvisthammar leads the pack with a stack of 806,000 and will be looking to add to his tally of a combined four European Poker Tour (EPT) & ESPT final tables. The Swedish player managed to make it onto the podium twice by coming third in both a Seniors tournament and a 6-Handed event at previous stops.

Rounding out the top three stacks are Rayane Mokhtar with 780,000 and Italy's Ermanno Di Nicola, who bagged 692,000.

Alexandros Kolonias, who sits second on Greece's all-time money list, sits fourth on the leaderboard and has 645,000 chips in his arsenal to tackle Day 2. Kolonias is no stranger to the EPT circuit but a title still eludes the Greek player with his best finish on the tour being a runner-up spot back at the 2016 edition of EPT Monte Carlo in a High Roller event.

Other notables who made it through include Rania Nasreddine (466,000), Leo Margets (437,000), Jamie Dwan (335,000), Daniel Rezaei (237,000), Noah Boeken (251,000), Maria Konnikova (226,000), and Nick Palma (200,000) just to name a few.

Play will begin at Level 17 (3,000/6,000) with a 6,000 big blind ante and the average stack sits at around 200,000 — or 33 big blinds. The level duration has been increased to 60-minute levels for the rest of the tournament and breaks will occur every two hours.

Lex Veldhuis wasted no time in getting his chips into the middle and was the at-risk player with Alessandro La Cava looking to eliminate the Team PokerStars player.

Camarda Double Barrels

Nivel 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action folded to Salvatore Camarda in the small blind, who raised to 18,000. After some thought, Martin Stausholm called in the big blind.

On the AJ9 flop, Camarda continued with a bet of 13,000, which Stausholm called, fixing his eyes intently on his opponent.

The 5 came on the turn, and Camarda continued to fire, putting out a bet of 32,000, leading to a relatively swift fold from Stausholm.
