€30,000 Super High Roller Warm Up
Día 1 empezado
The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona continues today with the €30,000 Super High Roller Warm Up. This is the most expensive buy in so far at EPT Barcelona. Play will commence at 12:30 p.m local time at the Casino Barcelona on the city's waterfront.
This is the first €30,000 buy-in tournament to be held at EPT Barcelona. Similar to the previous €20,000 tournament that was first played this week, the key difference is the players start with a stack of 250,000 chips instead of 100,000.
EPT Barcelona has already seen some high stakes action this year. The €25,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament held yesterday into the early hours of this morning was won by Byron Kaverman. He took home €381,060, adding to his second place finish in the €12,300 Cuatro Knockout just two days ago for €119,400. Kayhan Mokri won the €20,000 No-Limit Hold'em for €259,646, adding to his $2.7 million in winnings from EPT events.
A shot clock will be implemented from the start of the event. Each player will have 15 seconds to act on their first decision and 30 seconds on any subsequent decision.
Players will receive six time bank cards worth 30 seconds each at the time of taking their seat then one additional time bank card at the start of every odd level (3,5,7,9 etc.).
Eliminated players who reenter can claim the number of time bank cards they had at elimination when they take their seat and not later.
Action will commence with blinds at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante. There will be 15-minute breaks at the end of Levels 3, 6 and 10 before a 75-minute dinner break after Level 14.
Late registration will remain open until the end of Level 10.
Stay tuned as PokerNews will be bringing you all the action and updates from here at EPT Barcelona on the Spanish coast.
There is a slight delay to proceedings as players register and take their seats.

The cards are in the air for the €30,000 Super High Roller Warm Up.
Action was picked up on the turn of 7♦8♣Q♣2♥. David Coleman bet 50,000 into Mike Watson, who made the call.
With the pot at around 150,000, Coleman moved all of his chips in bar one on the 8♠ river. Watson snap-folded and left Coleman with the pot.

Derk Van Luijk opened to 2,500 from the hijack. Action folded around to David Coleman who called in the small blind and Mike Watson defended the big blind.
Both blinds checked the A♠10♣K♠ flop to Van Luijk who bet 3,500. Coleman called and Watson folded. Coleman then check-called a bet of 5,500 on the 8♥ turn. He checked once more on the 6♠ river, which prompted Van Luijk to fire a bet of 12,000. Coleman took a moment before releasing his cards.

It's official. After its return in 2023 following a 12-year hiatus, PokerStars has confirmed that The Big Game on Tour is back again this year, with more episodes to be filmed at the NAPT Las Vegas festival.
Ten episodes of the show were filmed last year, with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Maria Ho, Lex Veldhuis and Sam Grafton all taking part. The show features a lucky Loose Cannon who receives $50,000 and has to survive 150 hands playing $50/$100 with a table of poker pros, ambassadors, and celebrities.
PokerNews spoke with Big Game on Tour judge and commentator James Hartigan ahead of the show's return, and he says he's thrilled the show is back.
Action was picked up on the flop with Jamil Wakil and Georgios Karakousis checking the flop of 9♣A♥10♠ from the blinds to Sven Andersson. He elected to check from the button.
The K♣ turn brought another round of checks, as did the K♠ river. Karakousis tabled 9♥2♥ for a pair of nines but he was outkicked by Wakil's Q♠9♦. Andersson mucked and Wakil took the small pot.
